my buddy is looking into getting a can for his 2007 f1000. any ideas or opinons on which is best. I realize weight loss is the big isssue . he doesnt want an obnoxious sound . and most cans are only good for a couple of hp. which means very little, its already a hp hog! I was thinking about a bikeman can whata cat guys think?

another issue is weight transfer with this pig. he cant seem to hook up the transfer blocks are set lightest, and limiter is set long, yet he just spins the track only to hook up after everyone is long gone any help is appreciated.

I have a used D&D can from my old 2007 f1000 for sale. 120 bucks, new they are over 200. The can is like new. It was louder than stock but not bad. I took it off when I traded in sled.
The 1000 , once set up, will run good, but its takes a little work. Stock they run way fat.
Mine had 240 picks, still spun.

why bother with just a can on a trail sled? go with the slp pipe can power commander set up and get 192 arm stretching hp. why dump the fuel in to a choked off 1000 let it breath and do what it was built for.
it is tough to keep that kind of torque from spinning a 128 I would re gear to start.I could spin my 153 doing 30 and hammering down in wet heavy mashed potatoes.
snowest is the best place to find a pipe set for that sled.slp if not planning on porting speedwerx if planning on porting etc.
as far as BMP they have a nice shinny catalog and that is it.never send in a set of jugs to them for anything I think they send them to the jr high shop class for porting.they do make the best pipe for ported f7 the fat azz but that is it.they hire top of the game talent to race and then ok I better stop

I agree with ezra. Everything i have heard on the 1000 is that it doesn't breathe well. Speedwerx makes terrific Cat goodies and knows their engines well. I too think you should get the complete exhaust system including the Y-pipe..... Also speedwerx cans are not as loud as some. Nice for noise sensitive areas.

I know most of us like the sound of brrrrp
brrrrrp, but you lose hp. My opinion is it's not
worth the money for a couple pounds. If you ride for
Any period of time it gets annoying and other
people don't want to hear it either. Change your gearing
if you want a lil more pop. Every one I know who has run
a can ends up craigslisting the thing

also I guess the speedwerks is better if you are spraying nos think it is because the speedwerx can has less baffles than slp so has less back pressure. pipe is almost Identical so I have been told

The 07s really did not hook very good. The sleds were augering monsters. Tell him to pull the blocks and try that little change first. How many studs in that stock track? They need a lot to hook. We just gave up on the stock tracks and switched over to the Cobra. No need to add a noise box until the sled can actually move.
