I'd like to know what occupation doesn't? I know I have yet to learn of one where mistakes are not made.

Some failures are more or less acceptable then others, such as a heart surgeon vs a drive thru window jockey who forgot your straw.

Acceptable is based on opinion. I have had the misfortune to experience mistakes from both of your examples. My second open heart was needed because of something not going well after the pacemaker insertion. I know the Dr that did my pacemaker is still in practice and I harbor absolutely no hard feelings and would never want to see him lose his job or feel bad for what happened. He was fully qualified and I trust he did his utmost. Stuff happens no matter what.

So my question still stands.
