SHAVED AND READY TO GO! SMOOTH AS A ICE RINK....FAST FAST FAST...... COME CHECK IT OUT AS IT WILL BE WORTH THE TRIP

The New Lisbon Winter Wanderers snowmobile club invites you to join us for our 39th annual Winter Festival. This is our clubs annual radar run on Castle Rock Lake, and is one of our biggest fundraisers of the year. Our club maintains and grooms 85 miles of scenic trails in Juneau County WI. We have a true passion for the sport and take great pride in our trail system. We own and operate our own equipment to brush and groom the trails. This equipment that is needed to properly maintain the trails is very costly. Now we have decided to also invest additional funds, equipment and time into our radar run. As a club we realize the importance of continuing tradition and providing activities, not only for the local community but also for the sport of snowmobiling. A portion of the proceeds from the event go to our annual scholarship fund.
This season, the event will have many changes. We are making huge improvements on the track, safety, classes, scoring and etc. Our goals are for both the fans and racers to have a safe and fun weekend, but we also want to provide a fast track to those truly dedicated racers. The biggest change this season will be we now have a shaved track! We are hosting a two day event which is also new this year. The races will be held on both Saturday and Sunday. With all that being said we are not leaving out the amateur racer. The classes are being up-dated. Rules will also be added to each class to help keep a level playing field. And we will have a track that was plowed only and not shaved for those that do not have studs.
The shaved area will be 50’ wide and 2500’ long. Top speed will be recorded at 1000’ with a Port-A-Tree timing system. Frank Newman from Newman Racing is shaving the track. Frank has a lot of experience building tracks and is a die-hard snowmobiler/racer. The classes include Stock un-studded, Stock studded, Improved Stock, Pro Stock, Mod and Vintage. Trophies will be awarded for 1st and 2nd place in all classes on both days. We are also going to make changes to the staging area and track layout to make the event safer for the racers and spectators. Plenty of parking is available on the ice for racers and also on land for spectators. Registration begins at 8:00 AM on both days. The club will also have raffles and other activities for all ages. More information will be added to the event soon, please check our page for updates. Think snow!
The following is a contact list of local hotels/cabins for people looking to spend the whole weekend racing. If you are already going to drive and get the sleds out, you should stay the whole weekend and get the most out of it. I will also post links to websites and etc. on this event page for lodging. Reel Inn, Necedah WI. 608-565-2262. Sunrise Motel, Necedah WI. 608-565-2418. Travelers Inn, New Lisbon WI. 608-562-5141. Mauston Super 8, Mauston WI. 608-847-2300.
Also, this will be a great "real world" testing track for you NSSR guys. Our club has spent money and a lot of time working with the timing system and track layout. You will see a night and day difference from previous years. We will even have a portion of the shaved ice dedicated to race studs only! Get your sleds dialed-in here and show up your buddies on race day!
