Father's Day Gift

The wife of a buddy of mine is looking to get him a weather station for Father's Day. She asked me about mine, but is not willing to spend the $500 for the Davis. What is a good option in the $200-$300 range?

Unfortunately, the adage "you get what you pay for" really hold true for weather stations. I have had little good luck with anything else but Davis. The worst has been anything from La Crosse Technology, that includes many units that are made by La Crosse and then rebranded.

So I guess she needs to choose, go inexpensive and hope it lasts as long as they would like (I would not bet on more than 2 years), or pony up for a Davis and have a unit that will last for a long time.

Kinda what I expected you to say....
I had a Honeywell, but it only lasted for 3 years before falling a part due to the sun, rain, and freeze/thaw. I now have a Davis and love it!
