I realize that this answer is quite open ended, but at the end of the day, it boils down to this.

The worst sled I ever had is the one that just broke, while my buddies and I are riding. The best is which ever one I am riding on and having a blast with my buddies.

The honest truth.

Any new sled from from Route 12 this year?

Come on!....your first sled can never be called the worst....I had an ultra sp that always was trying to kill me. Worst part is I traded in a indy 650 for it.

Best sleds by far are the new AXYS SB and hopefully the Rush as well.

there is truth to the first cant be your worst, even though a total mechanical nightmare, I was still proud of it, kept fixing it, paid for it with my own money, and got me started to want something better. what year ULTRA SP? trying to kill you? purchased one last year to flip and make a few bucks on, never owned one, hasn't been run in 5 years before I bought it, not planning on keeping but curious how was trying to kill you?

Since I never started with sleds until the mid 90s I don't have a whole lot to work with....."worst" was probably the 99 Yamaha Mtn Max 600....tippy (Hello, Mtn?), under powered, and mileage sucked....oh, and did I mention hard to turn?....."best"......hmmm....for outright fun factor that'd be the 98 SRX 700 that was set up and ported by Bender.....gotta love triple piped triples.....that said my current '14 Viper X-TX has been right up there if just a tad short on ponies.........

That Aggressive chassis 700 triple triple and me never seemed to land a jump or negotiate a curve with a secure feeling.

Best a luck with your flip...LOL

By far the worst sled I've ever owned is a 14 ski doo 800 etec. Didn't run right from day one. Numerous trips to the dealer did not resolve anything (can't duplicate the problem). After 3 seasons I gave up.
Now back on a yamaha sidewinder ltx le and will never look back......

best sleds 01-04 edge 600's had 4. 8-10,000 miles each. worst 09 800 switchback. thing never ran right even after $450 powercommander and dynotech map. thing grenaded after 2500 miles. sold for $500 after 3 years.

I have had lots of great sleds over the years but the one's that stand out are my 1973 Viking Vigilante SS, my 1980 Polaris Centurion, and my 2012 Polaris 800 Switchback Assault, probably my worst was my 1997 Polaris XLT Limited

I can honestly say I've loved every single sled I've owned that were for me.
1973 Yamaha GS340...would love to find one to restore someday.
1983 John Deere 340 Sprintfire
1997 Polaris Indy Trail...son rode it for a few yrs and it's now for sale. 5xxxmiles and have only replaced rear shock. Starts 2nd pull every time!
2005 Ski Doo MXZ. Will be for sale next yr unless younger son wants it.
Kids:
1994 Yamaha Ovation. Damn those things are FUN! 13yr old still riding it this yr, but he is ready for something bigger.
2012 Ski Doo MXZ TNT. 16 yr old bought it this yr with his own $. We will see how it goes!
2 Kitty Kats, 198X & 1997. Put deep snow kit on both and they were awesome!
2000(i think) AC Z120
199X Ski Doo Mini z...worst sled by far. Choke cable broke in the carb, couldn't find replacement sold it as is.

SO much fun has been had with these toys over the years, hoping many more to come!

Best sled 2001 polaris 120, hands down! Bought it fo $2k have probably put a couple hundred bucks into it. Raised 3 kids on it. Still have it holding out for grandkids someday! Lol.
All to other sleds have cost me tens of thousands of dollars! Lmao!
I was always a poo guy until I bought 2 crappy poo’s first one being a 05 Fusion second being a 09 . dragon. Jumped ship to a 15 MXZ X 800 e-tec. So for no problems (knock on wood). Like it a lot,

Spot on

My answer - WORST 2001 PRO X 600 - blew bearing first trip, Snapped Drive shaft 2nd trip, and 3rd trip although very minor recoil broke on a 2 year old sled. Traded away for Ski Doo

BEST- my current that is why I still have 2010 Ski Doo 1200. Love it can not justify upgrading when this one runs so good and handles great

Where do I start? What a topic...
Probably the worst was my spx... snobuilder talks about an ultra sp (I think he meant spx,) I had a 97 ultra spx/se triple triple I called it
crazy fast, too crazy fast....almost met my maker on that one too ... coming out of Curtis Mi going way tooo fast, got flipped off, BANG went my head,
major concussion... woke up that next morning a new man, it just wasn't my time
Broke the jackshaft just after going 80 mph down a straight away...lucky the secondary clutch didn't cut me in half !!
It had 144 studs with 8" carbides, like wrestling an alligator in the corners...actually believe a have a permanent muscle knot in my back from the fregging thing
Managed to get almost 9500 miles on that heavy iron.. On the plus side it got great gas mileage at the time.
Friends that rode it would say it was the fastest thing they ever rode...
This sled really let me down on a tour I took with it, Up in copper harbor staying at Brockway mountain hotel, the sled motor completely fills with gas..have to get towed by truck to a shop... then after that the water pump goes out 17 miles north of eagle river... get towed again
next trip I melt the inner piston... woes me...woes me sold it for $1000... a very happy day
The best sled would have to be my current sled...2015 skidoo ace 900 tnt mxz fast enough for fun for me with a quiet smoke free ride

1979 Trailcat 440 was the biggest Pile Of Sled on the planet. Favorite was the would not die 1980 Exciter 440.

Worst was my Polaris 340 Colt every time I went around a corner it would either tip over or spin in a circle. Those perpendicular steel track bars were something Best I think is my current 2016 Switchback Pro S 800. Nice machine

Top dog- 1980 Scorpion 440 Whip in Black. Beat it like I wanted to blow up or throw a track then a 1996 Formula SS 670 which i also treated like crap and it kept going and took it like a man and also sounded mean for a stock sled!

El Crapo- 1997 Indy Special 700 Triple. Fun sled to ride, but quality control must have been at it's lowest when this one was built.

Was pointed out to me some inherit problems with a sled I purchased as a starter sled for my fiancé s son …
Inherit problems?
Something genetic, a genetic disorder? An abnormality in the genome?
Passed down from the product line's genes? :devilish:

My first and favorite snowmachine was a 1980 Yamaha Enticer 340. Reliable, easy to start, fast enough for me, nimble, and fun to ride. In deep snow it would get stuck easily and unstuck almost as easily. I had the deluxe version with electric start (as if it were needed) and hand warmers that you could turn off. The only serious flaw was the indented headlight that would collect snow and dim the lights to the point I would have to stop and clean it out when riding at night in heavy snow. My neighbor had the Exciter 440 which was a much faster machine (I had it over 90mph on a smooth road) but the smaller sled was a better fit for the kind of riding that I used to enjoy. Now I am into skiing so much that I no longer even desire to own a sled but it was a lot of fun back then (in the 1980's).

You mean you could side hill a 1980 30 hp Enticer short track, and still have fun? Huh? I thought only 12 ft long, 3" paddle, $16k sleds could do that??? Lol:adoration:
