Well in early 2010 i had an oppurtunity to buy a good house in the far western UP but i had to sell my 2002 ZR 800 x-country edition snowmobile to put me over the top to purchase it cash......... Work has been hard to find and money has been tight.................So i found an oldie but a goodie,........ 1998 SRX Mountain edition. Same as the other SRX's except with a 136 inch track with 2 inch paddles. The sled is nearly mint, only 5100 miles on it! The tunnel where your feet go is barely worn. Seat no tears. All original stickers, extra belt and cover....Started one pull when i looked at it. Now i knew there was an issue with the cranks and i will contact a dealer to see if the upgrade has been done but i'm pretty sure it has, the original owner was a mechanic. The second owner only used it on ocassion to ride locally. Thought i would share my excitement with you guys. Here's a pic from when i looked at it and then a pic of it in my garage. 548907_593443158708_1471572412_n.jpg 578775_423129071070832_17960015_n.jpg < taken with my phone, doesnt show the true blue) o yeah they took $1000 cash.

oh heck yea! First thing I'd do is get a bar riser, longer cables so you can stand up on that bad boy. I have a 2001 Mtn Max 144 and she goes. Congrats!

Nice sled! It is true blue. Agree - nothing like the sound of a triple winding up. Congratulations!

Very nice! Now we can have that big snow year we've all been waiting for!! :) I also loved the sound of the triples, I had an XLT and an Ultra. Have a great winter!

524517_423505964366476_943916229_n.jpg Thanks guys! Will do on the upgrades Lenny. And i love the growl of the triples too, need an after market silencer, the stock one is huge! (i had a toyota with a smaller muffler) and it's really quite. My stock 1998 ZRT 600 was loud and crisp. Looks like I'll be blue year round now...

Sweet sled! I would really like to pick up one of those at some point. I drooled over those trailing arm 2 stroke Yamahas in high school and college and by the time I was able to start buying sleds they were all four strokes. Someone I know sort of inherited one from a family friend, and he never uses it - supposedly it takes way too much steering effort, but I'm guessing that's just a set-up issue. If he ever mentions getting rid of it, I will jump on it.

Nice find for a grand! I do love the sound of a finely tuned triple, however, the sound of a disc popping trying to unstick one is another story.-Mezz

Yep Mezz for sure it's heavy but i'm use to it my 98 ZRT 600 and my 02 ZR 800 were both heavy....Thanks Guys hope it's a year with over 200 inches! 170 inches like the past two years isnt so bad either. Derrek glad to see you made a JohnDee'r account.
