First ride in Twin Lakes out of Krupps

Had a chance to get away for a few days, so off to Twin Lakes we went. We had two Summits that needed to be broke in, so spent the better part of our time putting miles on them between Greenland and South Range. (Stopped in to see Lori and Dave's new station up there, and chat a bit. It's very nice, with plenty of space, and good food.) Snow was coming on and off most of Tuesday and Wednesday, but the LES factor really kicked in Thursday. We mainly stuck to logging roads on Thursday, and did a littly playing in a couple spots. The snow depth was good, but there's still no base to it.

They're there Skylar. You were just too quick on the draw (me too). Sometimes it takes a minute or two for the images to become available after they are posted.

Anyway, the are there now.

Doesn't look like any fun to me!

Skylar - I thought you weren't headed up there for another couple weeks? My bad if that's not the case. We didn't hit the one down the way I showed ya last year, so check that out as well when your up there! Dave's thumb held up, and the Klim helmet was nice with the "right" setup. On trail, with just the helmet and balclava was very cold on the upper cheeks. It had plenty of air flow. THe following day, I ditched the balclava, and used on of those fog evader things, with just the helmet, and a neck warmer. It worked very well both on and off trail, so that's how I'll be riding with it going forward.

Kris, great pics. Looks like there was plenty of snow to have fun. You never mentioned how the new summits performed. I know you had some break-in time, but you had to give in eventually!

Ryan - I think the No Fog is the same thing, just different brand than mine.

Adam -Loved the sled. Took some time to get the feel for it, but became more comfortable with it the longer I was on it. It dumped over on it's side real easy. We did some clutch work, but didn't have it completely dialed in for flat land, as we were only pulling about 7950 for R's. They were set up for higher elevation from the dealer. I might upgrade to the stiffer set of rear springs to offset the slight sag in the back, but other than that and the clutching, it rocked.

Rusty - Thanks. Looks like you guys had a great time as well.

Rusty - Nope. It's Dave. Maybe Haydays, Outlaw drags, Mpls. convention center show or something.....

Eric - Time to blow the dust off that kitty, and get that thing ready. We'll see ya soon enough! (JD ride in?)
