First Subaru For Wife

Purchased a 2019 Ascent with around 100k miles on it. super smooth vehicles. Had Honda Pilot before.
I know they are known for their AWD and taking it in for a tranny flush in a couple weeks as it shifts fine but no records of when it was last done and want to be safe.
Can i expect 200k with maintenance for these buggies? thx.

I see a lot of Subarus up here in northern Wisconsin. I think as long as you change the fluids regularly and do scheduled maintenance you should be good.

My wife has one and I drive it occasionally. As you stated, a very smooth-running vehicle with the Boxer engine and CVT. No issues and no repairs thus far for us.

We've got a 2019 Crosstrek that I commute 130 miles every day with. Great car for northern MN, I'd rather drive that than my F350 on days with crappy road conditions, its a freaking Billy Goat. Haven't given any thoughts to a tranny flush (maybe I should) but its at about 99,000 miles right now. Car has been flawless up to this point.

Not sure you can do a trans fluid change on a Subaru cvt, thought it was life time fluid?
“Lifetime, Lifetime Fill, Fill for Life" etc used by vehicle and transmission manufacturers, is typically understood to indicate the transmission fluid and transmission filter will last the lifetime of the vehicle while under warranty.

Thanks for the info guys. i called the place in Burnsville and was quoted $400 and scheduled it so worth it as am sure a tranny is $4k. i am maintenance vs miles.
Bought my Tundra and did the same thing at 100k. .

I'm sure it's near impossible to do it yourself these days. I had a cvt once and there was no drain and no dipstick, so I wasn't confident in getting all the fluid out nor how much to put back in, so I had the dealer do it also.

Doing so every 30K miles sounds a bit much? Are these CVT's known to be problems? Just what does Subaru list for service mileages?
Subaru says its lifetime fluid or if ur towing or in extreme conditions every 29xxx miles some really old ball number just under 30k
So its really stupid what they say

Funny story on transmission flushing. When our 2019 Cross Trek needed its first oil change our son wanted to do it because my wife said she'd pay him $25. I come home to the car up on 4 jack stands and my my son refilling the tranny fluid. He'd drained that instead of the motor oil. So ours had it's first, and so far only, tranny flush at 3500 miles.
