fly spray

Alright pet owners, I have a indoor/outdoor kennel for my dog and the flys are terrible. Can anyone recommend a good quality spray that I could use. And also can you use it on the animal itself? I only have a Walmart, home depot and a few none chain hardware stores in town. Thanks.

Check the stuff they use for horses. I remember using it at a riding camp I attended. I would think ok for horse is ok for a dog but check to be safe.

We get Horse spray for our dogs at a TSC store but what we buy has dogs and cats listed on the use label. Not all of them do. Look online or checka ny feed stores in you're area.

OMG, the flys here are really bad. I just bought a spray for Skye called Ultra Shield Green Natural Fly Repelent, made by Absorbine. It is OK, but they also have one that isn't GREEN. It smells OK, but if your dogs are outside dogs, it wouldn't matter. Bought it at a tack shop. Years ago I bought something at WallyWorld, it worked great!

I'm out of town right now and will look when I get home tomorrow. Yes, we spray it on the dogs. They don't like getting sprayed but I do think they like not getting bothered by the flys!

Or you could try this receipe...which has been around for decades...maybe not as effective as some of the new fangled concoctions but it used to work fine.

Good ole citronella oil, vinegar and lemon oils are all good natural repellants.

What we have been using is called Equisect. It lists dogs and cats on the label. We don't use much, a bottle has lasted a year with three large dogs. Just a light mist all over. Tsc didn't have that this time sowe got Manna Pro which also lists dogs and cats.
