Fogging 2012 Polaris 800 Switchback/Rush

I have a 2012 Switchback & my Dad has an 2012 Rush. The manual doesn't really say the proper way to fog them. There are 2 air intake spots on each side of the "dashboard area". Do those simply pop out and you spray your fogging oil into there or is there another way to do it on those sleds? Thanks! Jim

Don't take off the snow filters because that wont work .You will need to remove the hood and head light assembly and take apart the air box so you can remove the air horns and then you can fog the engine. You will need to plug the dash back in so you can run the engine. You will also need to remove most of the gas in the tank.On the EFI sleds you need to keep about a gallon of gas in the tank so the fuel pump stays submerged and then treat that fuel with blue stabil that is meant for ethanol fuels. For carb sleds remove all the gas and drain the carbs. The new gas wont last more then 45-60 days and will start to separate and plug up the fuel system.I have the 12 switch pro r 800 and all I did is treat the gas and I am going to run the sled thru out the summer a couple of times. With chrome cylinders and hardened chrome bearings their isn't much of a problem with corrosion.

I'm sorry but this is why I don't buy Polaris. They're so stupid and behind the times. If what your saying is true to fog the motor that is absolutely insane.

Buy an etec, press a button and listen to it fog itself. Done!!

That is not fogging! Fogging oil is WAY DIFFERENT from the 2 stroke oil you put in that etec. Fogging oil sticks to everything to protect it from rust, the oil thats flooding out the motor on your etec just runs to the bottom of the case in a month or 2.

This is why I put a hole in the airbox. There is no reason to take the entire sled apart. Put a hole in there and your troubles go away. I posted pics on another thread about it.

We ended up summerizing the sleds this past weekend & placing them into storage. We dumped some Sea Foam & Stabil into the gas after draining fuel down to < 1/4 full. Then we pulled the plugs & my Dad sprayed fogging oil & dumped some non-VES Polaris oil down the holes. We then covered the holes with rags & I pulled the rope slowly a several times. We then proceeded to do another round of spraying fogging oil while I pulled the rope slowly a few times. Put plugs back in. Started sleds up and let the Sea Foam & Stabil work their way into the sytem and we were all done. And of course we cleaned up the sleds so they will look nice & perty next Fall. Can't wait! I am crossing fingers that next Winter is more like we are accustomed to.

The e-tec auto fogging function directs extra oil into the crank case and rave valves. This is has also been used on the e-tec outboards also for years. Seems to work great.

It shouldn't be too hard to do on sleds without the auto fog function, just takes more time.
