I am going to do my best to not look at a forecast for the next week. Seen way to many a time that we get these forecasts for a bigen but when it is advertised so far out it always ends up being a bust. I am not gonna get all fired up. Not gonnna.

While the forecast is encouraging if 12 inches of snow fall, with nothing frozen and swamps full of water I don't think it'll do much good for us.

It's a start anyway, and that'll help keep the air mass cold. Reflecting the suns heat, and radiant cooling to the air.

10 days ago it snowed about 5 inches 40 miles south of here. We got nothing. For the last week the temps have been 10 degrees warmer here than where they got the snow. It makes a difference.

To late for me. I am past excited about a change in the pattern. Time for a call out for Mr. Blizzard?

Too late for me also! Always get excited, but if we don't get snow in southern Minnesota hopefully someone close by gets a good amount and I can take a day trip to ride. Gotta get this season started!!

Low expectations for me for next 10 days or so just have to ride out the warm spell then see how John sees it from there. A lot of truth to nothing set up yet but I guess I would rather deal with the mush areas than go snowless.

I've been telling the folks at work, "Every day is one closer to me moving there".
Instead of going there for a week here and there, I can vacation back here for a little sledding.
I can clean and wax boats for rich folks. They are a little short on a strong Midwest work ethic down there.
My wife's boss lives in Islamorada on a 65ft offshore. He has a 50ft houseboat we can use anytime. Taking it to KW in March with 2 couples.

All types of peeps down in FL. Sure lots of big money but many that can't scrape 2 nickles together living hand to mouth in the land of the sunshine. Panhandlers with their hand out are the ones that bother me. This girl was panhandling on the same corner for 2 weeks had her bike with her...I pulled over waved her to the car told her to ride across the Valano bridge that X restuarant was looking for a dish washer and she could have the job.... she said "**** no" I don't want a job I do just fine on my corner. LOL

My sentiment exactly, but if I move, it's going to be to the mountains or AK, not somewhere without snow. When I was in the Navy, I was in San Diego on Christmas, FREAKED me out. Out on the patio Christmas morning, in shorts and no shirt. Plugged a couple quarters in the BEER machine. WORSE winter ever!

I'm at that stage of life where I can be where I want to be to max play time. Currently I prefer the seasons to year long summer but that could change if winter is a bust in Phelps. I'll get stir crazy if no skiing, skating, ice fishing or sleddin. I really can't complain last 2 years sleddin was epic here & the
UP ....held it to 3500 miles per year of best of the best. Getting sled work done in July & Kip says how many miles now 3 or 4K?.. & I say no pushing 8,000 miles "Oh then we should get those donuts done for ya". Ahhh yeah! We ride & all that happy stuff. lol :)

We are on the same track, scary how much we are on the same page! I have looked at Marinas all over Florida in an effort to do the same thing! My wife works for a company in Maine, we can live anywhere we want!

When we were just in Key West we rented bikes for the entire time there, averaged about 30 miles a day! Exercise is the best cure for a Key West hangover too

Toolmaker, what other areas of the Keys would you recommend staying at, just to change it up a bit?

We have been in the process of purchasing a dive boat business in Boca Raton, FL for the last 6 months. Will take it over next spring. I sell fireworks and am only locked down to WI/MN couple months a year. The wife only has 6 yrs. left in Army and retired. Our plan is to live where it's warm and rent a house out West in the winter.

We are leaving Sat for Cozumel till Christmas. This will be our 3rd year of killing time diving instead of stressing about snow in December. Been great for the blood pressure.
