I hear ya it’s been a tuff season to get trail condition information for Northern WI and Big Snow MI as well. The clubs just don’t update on snowtracks and other websites.I have been trying for a week to get accurate info on Florence and Forest County trails...nobody knows nothing...even the casino has no clue on trail conditions in the area...it's really frustrating...the club sites are old and not updated very often....well...i guess we'll get over there and see, if it sucks we'll trailer north.
Yep..remember when we reported for snowtracks and they booted us (because a certain business in eagle river that advertised with their site was upset at our "negative (honest) reports"....lol...that site is now dying and rarely updated which is too bad...but in a way I'm glad it's failingI hear ya it’s been a tuff season to get trail condition information for Northern WI and Big Snow MI as well. Had buddies that went through florence from iron mt. Down to dunbar friday said all blue ox trails were great that they were on. Few people we chatted with Saturday said same thing. What are you guys talking about, false information! Updated and current trail information, usually daily, for Forest, Oconto and Florence counties (and many others) are available everywhere. Facebook is the main communication channel, and direct club sites as well. Forest County-100milesnow safari, Lumberjack Memorial Trails (LMT)...Northern Oconto County - Red Arrow, Paul Bunyan, Chute Pond and Florence - Blue Ox.
Times have changed guys....Snowtracks, Trail conditions.com, and others are long gone for the most part, and even many local establishments and their employees, unless snow riders, do not have accurate information, like the Carter Casino. If you look, you can easily find, just need to be willing to get with the "new way" the world communicates. And, do not complain about the way the clubs/people communicate.....you all know every club is hurting for members, time, etc.., so if Facebook is the easiest way to communciate, then that is where you will find it. This from a 58 year old guy, and the sole reason I even have a facebook account is for snowmobile trail conditions.
My kids, in their late 20's, are avid riders everywhere in N WI and the UP, and follow almost all of the clubs on facebook and usually have updated daily, if not bi-weekly reports from all clubs, and many related establishments.
Been riding these areas every weekend since XMAS week, and early this week as well. Not much new snow, some snirt and some areas with some stutters, but all trails still in above average condition and very rideable. Weekend traffic takes it toll and main trails are usually shot by 4pm, but Saturday most are re-groomed and ready to go again Sunday am. Weekly grooming consistent as well.
Umm...I messaged the clubs directly on Facebook and got little to no response..so I took to using the old stand by trail report sites....some people do not know the area, (like myself)...and you do realize there are 3 counties and several clubs that maintain trails...and like I said..if u don't know the area..u wouldnt have a clue what club, does what trail...take carter for example..heading south, and in less than 10 miles you will be on 3 different clubs trails, and go from Forest to Oconto County (in less than a mile)...I try to educate myself on areas that I plan to ride...but thats a little confusing down there. What are you guys talking about, false information!
