Here is a link to a awesome story about a couple who own some land and the State wanted to come in to survey a creek on their property. You need to read this!! Shoe is on the other foot!! Wish I would've had the chance to come up with this!!

http://www.theblaze.com/stories/201...nt-request-for-access-to-property-goes-viral/

Dear Mr. Niemela:
Thank you for your inquiry regarding accessing our property to survey for the yellow-legged frog. We may be able to help you out with this matter.
We have divided our 2.26 acres into 75 equal survey units with a draw tag for each unit. Application fees are only $8.00 per unit after you purchase the “Frog Survey License” ($120.00 resident / $180.00 Non-Resident). You will also need to obtain a “Frog Habitat” parking permit ($10.00 per vehicle). You will also need an “Invasive Species” stamp ($15.00 for the first vehicle and $5.00 for each add’l vehicle) You will also want to register at the Check Station to have your vehicle inspected for non-native plant life prior to entering our property. There is also a Day Use fee, $5.00 per vehicle.
If you are successful in the Draw you will be notified two weeks in advance so you can make necessary plans and purchase your “Creek Habitat” stamp. ($18.00 Resident / $140.00 Non-Resident). Survey units open between 8am and 3pm but you cannot commence survey until 9am and must cease all survey activity by 1pm.
Survey Gear can only include a net with a 2″ diameter made of 100% organic cotton netting with no longer than an 18″ handle, non-weighted and no deeper than 6′ from net frame to bottom of net. Handles can only be made of BPA-free plastics or wooden handles. After 1pm you can use a net with a 3″ diameter if you purchase the “Frog Net Endorsement” ($75.00 Resident / $250 Non-Resident). Any frogs captured that are released will need to be released with an approved release device back into the environment unharmed.
As of June 1, we are offering draw tags for our “Premium Survey” units and application is again only $8.00 per application. However, all fees can be waives if you can verify “Native Indian Tribal rights and status.
You will also need to provide evidence of successful completion of “Frog Surveys and You” comprehensive course on frog identification, safe handling practices, and self-defense strategies for frog attacks. This course is offered online through an accredited program for a nominal fee of $750.00.
Please let us know if we can be of assistance to you. Otherwise, we decline access to our property but appreciate your inquiry.
Sincerely,
Larry & Amanda Anderson

that's priceless
But sad part is, NOT all depts even bother to ask first

about 6 yrs back now, I was fishing on a private pond, on land I manage, and caught a local boat and fish commissioner officer walking thru the property
I stopped him and asked WHY he was trespassing, and he said doing a study on native brook trout on a stream that runs thru the property?
I asked if he had permission, and all he said was NO< , most folks don''t care??
I then said didn;'t you see all the private property posted signs, ( i have one ever 25 ft all around the whole property!
he said, well NO

I said, OK< lets stop right now, , I want you to show me where you accessed the property and didn't see any signs??
as I knew fort a fact there was NO way to enter without seeing MANY signs, never mind one!

HE then said, again, most land owners don't mind??

and I said, and that is why the state game and fish dept in my area has such a reputation for being a bunch of Half A$$ jerks , that think there above the law>
at which point it told him he he didn't leave the property I was going to be pressing charges against him for trespassing!
and that MIGHT lead to issue for him at work and his Job,a s I am sure my local news paper would love to write a story about how you broke the law!! and told me several times you trespass withoit asking land owners, as if its the correct way to enter private property!!

In the future I suggested he do as the above did, write a letter asking in advance and have the common curtsy to allow a LAND owner to make the decision, and NOT YOU!

he wasn't very happy with me, but I could care less, respect is something lacking so much in today's world!

A police officer stops at a local ranch.
He talks with an old rancher, and tells him." I need to inspect your ranch for illegally grown drugs".
The rancher says, " OKay, but do not go in that field over there," as he is pointing out the location. You can't go in there...

The police officer verbally explodes saying,
" Mister, I have the authority of the federal government with me".
Reaching into his rear pants pocket, and proudly displays it to the rancher.
" See the badge old man? this badge means I am allowed to go on any land ... have I made myself clear".

The rancher apologizes, nods and goes about his chores.

A short time later the old rancher hears loud screaming,
looks up and sees the police officer running in front of the farmers prized bull.
With every step the officer makes the bull gains two, only seconds before the bull reaches him.
The rancher drops his tools and stands up and yells.

"Your badge, Show him your badge!" :D
