Online gambling is now legal in Michigan. Gov. Gretchen Whitmer signed the Lawful Internet Gaming act in December 2019 and the state is now positioned to become a serious player in online casinos and mobile sports betting. The Michigan Gaming Control Board officially launched online casinos as of January 22nd, 2021 so this has only been around for a few months.
Of course, casino games always have a house edge. The way you make money on this is from the welcome or sign up bonuses and then don't play anymore. If you continue to play the house edge will eventually get you.
I'm just in the process of looking into this and haven't opened any accounts yet. I was hoping some other forum members here would have done this and would comment on how things went. I'm only interested in online casinos that are legal and regulated by the Michigan Gaming Control Board.
You don't have to be a resident of MI to play online casinos, but you have to be physically located in MI when you do. Visitors to the U.P. can play on their smart phones and geolocation will indicate if you are in MI or not. Also have to prove you are over 21 to play. My plan is to open a separate checking account just for this purpose and move money in or out by ACH.
I can't find much info out there on this. Maybe its a well keep secret on maybe it is just too new.
Also if you google "online gambling in MI" about 5 ads will immediately pop up showing all the bonuses available.
My specialty is blackjack and that is what I would play. With blackjack you know what the house edge is so its pretty easy to calculate if the bonus will be profitable. However, you have to read the fine print to see the betting requirements in order to get the bonus.
