The Final Footnote

Brought the FourTrax home on Sunday night - now it's safe and sound.

Finally go out to the shed tonight, pulled the tank off, dumped out the old gas (which was the color of Mountain Dew), drained the carburetor and blew out the lines. I put everything back together and added some new gas.

Made a few rope pulls but no sign of life. Pulled the plug - no spark. It finally occurred to that it could be the kill switch. Checked the kill switch. Nope, switch was OK but when checking the switch I realized that there was yet a third slider switch which I can't even remember why it is there. Put the switch in the Run position, gave it a pull and I'm not lying, it started the first pull. Tweaked the idle jet some and the little one lunger was purring like a kitten. I just couldn't resist a spin around the yard at that point.

It still needs a little more TLC, new battery, and an oil change but now I'm thinking I'll be taking it up to the old home front in northern MN in a couple weeks to do a little logging road cruising.

Hard to believe an old guy could get so excited about an old machine. You'd think I just got a brand new one. I've attached a photo to put a "face" on this quest.
