Not a lot of info out there on them. I am a mixed trail and off trail rider in Wisconsin. I like the look of the Team FX as well as the fact that it has 2 chest pockets. The Backshift and the Vertical Assault are a bit more expensive. Any opinions? Does anyone know it they are all the same length?

Thanks!

I have a FXR adrenaline jacket and Fxr bibs. Very comfortable and warm with alot of zippers. Probably the best suit I have ever had. Hope this helps.

I like Team FX bibs & Jacket in any color & can't go wrong with FXR flotation assist tech as never know when you could break thru the ice & need all the help you can get staying above the water. Warm jacket & bib looks great, keeps you dry & then also has flotation assist incase you take a cold water bath. I don't know any other manufactuers snomo jacket & bib that has flotation assist & is best bang for the buck. Too many snomo riders drown when they go thru the ice & with FXR you have a much better chance to survive rescue. To me there isno other choice. :)

I think I have( own ) 6 FXR jackets. I did like the products, the material , the magnets in the zipper flap, multi pockets. I don't think you can go wrong but from your selection I like the looks of last one, they are coming out with some new materials. They change these styles & names every year. The 4 of my more expensive jackets with the floatex are all the same lenght in the front and on 2 the back has an added flap. They don't make them anymore like that, I think those were the Nitro Sx . The 2 ladies jackets for my daughters, have a female cut at the waist and are a little shorter, but not by much.

The Team FX is one of their most insulated jackets and an awesome jacket for the trail rider. Heavy insulation, removable line with pocket to keep it in should you want to remove it and floatation assistance!

The Backshift is one of their most popular and best insulated, removable liner jackets! It has HydrX laminate and MMT two stage dry technology to keep you dry from the inside and out. Also nice venting with mesh to keep the snowdust out!

The Vertical Assault is part of their Mountain line up and great for the aggressive rider that understands layering. It does have hidden Z-Liner that slightly helps with warmth but is really designed to have layering underneath.

Their best trail jacket or combo jacket is the Renegade XC. This is basically a Vertical Assault with a removable liner!

All great choices and will be dry and warm! Also great looking. TrackSide has all of them in stock.

I have the Backshift. Like it a ton. The liner is very thick and warm, and frankly I don't wear it unless it's brutally cold out. Nice looking, very functional jacket with plenty of pockets. I am happy with my purchase. the rest is personal preference in terms of how much you like the "look". Any of the 3 are winners. My $.02.

Am I correct in the understanding that the Flotation Assist is basically a plastic liner? Does this mean that the Backshift will breath better? I can work up a sweat if I am doing a lot of off trail riding. Is the MMT closer to Gore Tex?

Whitedust, you are saying that the Klim and FXR are the same length? I have been comparing these to the Klim Keweenaw and Klimate. I love those jackets but I like the more "sporty" appearance of the FXR.

Thanks for all the input guys!

Here is a nice option compared to the Vertical Assault. Its the Renegade XC. Appears to be identical to the Vertical Assault but adds a removable zip-out liner - Quick release 200g Thermal Flex™ Cold-Stop liner with inner zippered and lycra cell phone pockets.

Heck NO nothing like a plastic liner!! Flotation Assist is the insulation itself breaths well looks like any jacket bib/pant insulation just helps keep you buoyant in water. I would take a pitcure of my Flotation Assist but looks the same as any jacket insulation. FXR only snowmo gear that I know that has Flotation Assist tech. FXR is very high quailty clothing but more advanced than any other with Flotation Assist feature. Everyday I ride I take off from my house on the lake & gets a bit iffy early but keep my sled moving at a good clip & Aok. I live in remote area so if I did go in the drink I'm going to have to get myself out & Flotation Assist could be worth every penny to me in that case. I also always cross North Twin Lake as well so can't really escape ice crosssings where I ride. To me FXR or Klim was a no brainer but Flotation Assist put me over the top for FXR & my riding habits. FXR also has sooooooooooooo many different sizes it was easy for me to fit my body which is difficult as I have large shoulders, chest & arms & my waist has gotten larger over the years but I narrow down there somewhat. FXR current sizing chart is very accurate non current sizes are much samller. Hope this helps.

Ok you are like me. Seems there were some people complaining about the Team SX jacket about being tight in the shoulders. I am 6' 2" 255 with a 50" chest. I don't want to feel "restricted" in the shoulders and arms. I don't do much sit down cruising. I ride my sled hard since thats the best way to make it ride good (Nytro XTX) :). You have the Team FX?

Remember to size both Team jacket & bibs with your protective vest if worn on inside. I bought mine by the numbers on current year size chart but geared up with everything on took measurements. Cooksend sells FXR now at Trackside so it would be a good idea to call Greg. I don't think Trackside carried FXR last year or they didn't have current stock. I know I went there but bought online as local delealers did not have much last year between Rhinelander & Eagle River, WI. Remember non current size chart much smaller & very different styles than current year.

mvedepo,

Great choice on jacket as said above! All are great options and I would agree that the Renegade XC is tops. Don't let yourself get pulled into the breathability aspects of these jackets! If these jackets could breathe as quick as you perspire when boondockin' you would be steaming as you stand their and would have a nice layer of ice on the outside of your jacket! That is the purpose of climate control (venting)!
You are also correct that the MMT with Hydrx or HydrxPro is FXR's version of GoreTex. This is much better that the entry level Reissa Membranes that some companies use! Just ask Brett Rasmussen how he likes his FXR gear!!!
