Gear must be disposable nowadays...

The felt material on top of the insert pads in my boots on the inside is peeling off and bunches up in my boot, along with the plastic ends on the laces on my boots are all snapped/cracked off so I email the company that makes these boots to see if I can get new ones. My response? "Your boots are out of warranty but you could send them in for us to decide if it was a manufacturers defect." HUH my boots are perfectly fine I just want new pads and laces which I would pay for if you can send them to me instead of paying another $220 on a pair of your boots!

Also, the little red snap that holds my chin strap up so it doesn't flap around ripped out. So I email that company looking to see if they can send me a snap. My response? "You're helmet is out of warranty and no replacement snaps are available" REALLY the snaps are the same on the current helmets as they were 3 years ago. Guess I have to buy another $180 helmet!

Alright done venting...

What kind of boots have laces you can't buy "over the counter"? My $60 Farm and Fleet Rangers have lasted 6 years so far.

OR...swing by the local Red Wing shoe store. They will give you laces for free - even if you didn't purchase your boots there. I have stopped by for threee pairs of laces this year. Once for my Red Wing work shoes, Once for my Irish Setter (Red Wing made) hunting boots, and once for my Lacrosse Ice fishing boots. I will continue to be a repeat customer of theirs for this single reason.

Sounds like you need to call instead of email. I know what boots you are talking about, and that company, in the past at least, has been very helpful for a simple request like this. I think you got the standard response by email as they probably assumed you were looking for warranty coverage. If that doesn't work, call the dealer you bought them through. Again, in the past, that company has a good track record of helping out their customers.

I don't know who you are dealing with for a helmet.

If you are talking about MF boots, contact the MF guy on here. He gets things done, even when some of his vendors (FPP) doesn't. I had to send bibs back for a torn gator. They sent me loaners while they fixed mine.

Nope not them the "other" brand. Just got my MF bibs and jacket back from warranty work they did a great job and have a great warranty program. Have had great customer relations with them (even sent me a pair of gloves for free to try and guess what I love them so much I'm purchasing another pair and another pair of a different model they have this fall) the laces IMO are kind of specific it has their logo on it and the lace runs up the side and are pretty long.

Well, I got laces on the way but no luck on the pads. The helmet company sent me a survey on how I thought they handled the last "encounter" with them, well 1 star and a bad review later I may be getting my button that probably cost them 3 cents.

It will be interesting how the other company handles customer service with its new corporate ownership.

No doubt if someone "feels" that they got bad service from Klim from now on, it will be Poo's fault, right? LMAO

Well, if someone possibly thinks that might have happened to them, I'm sure there will be 20 Polaris cheerleaders on here immediately explaining why they are wrong, as Poo is beyond reproach. Klim along with the vendor I have purchased from has treated me great in the past, way beyond what I expected them to do so, and I expect they will continue to do so going forward. Indy isn't the kind of guy that's going to blow smoke about them if he isn't taken care of. Klim is a top notch company, from what I can tell.

I'm not trying to be negative - I'll keep buying Klim when I can afford to.

AGREED Hoosier!!!!! Do you get your gear from Perkinsville Powersports?

Yep - they are about 15 miles from my house. Some of my friends and family now buy from them too. I don't buy a ton of stuff, but I try to upgrade something every year. I use some of their gear for stuff outside of snowmobiling too.
