I attended my first snowmobile club meeting of this season last evening and being around like minded people discussing trails and the upcoming season got my juices flowing. If your feeling flat about snowmobiling attend a club meeting plenty going on to put trails in and always opportunities to help. 🔥

We were out 9 hours today brushing in Arbor Vitae. We are out there trying to make trails great again.😂😂 We will most likely be out next weekend doing the Bearskin. To me always amazing how people can find time to go to Haydays and what not but when it comes to actually doing something that can make a nice difference in the sport all of sudden they don't have the time.

Those of you that like to ride from home in WI should take the time to help with trails. Many clubs are on the verge of a labor crisis too few have to do everything raise money, please landowners , put trails in and take them out. If you find trails are gone in your area it was probably because there was little club participation. Good luck trying to get them back please attend a club meeting save your local trails!

You hit the nail on the head. There were only 12 people that showed up today. Most of them are the ones who always show up. The cruisers do a lot of work on Wednesdays. I am still a working stiff so that doesn't particularly work for us to help. There were people telling them that they can only help on Saturday's then no one shows up when they do work on Saturday. I think the wife and I were the only 2 who aren't part of the same group doing all the work. They will take the heavy equipment down the Bearskin on Wednesday and then Saturday we will clear it. Makes us feel good to pitch in to a sport that gives us so much joy.

I lived in Phelps for 16 years joined a few clubs helped when I could. Snowmobiling is big business in Vilas so work does get done lots of stake holders that harvest the benefits of snowmobiling. I’m back in SE WI now for personal reasons and like to ride locally when I can. Clubs in this area need help all have 100 plus members but only 10 or under attend meetings and do all the work. We have trails because a few of very dedicated people do all the work. We are at an unfortunate crossroads if member participation doesn’t increase the work won’t get done and trails will disappear and when and if that happens good luck trying to get landowners to donate land for trails. Now is the time to help check out your local snowmobile club attend a meeting find out what needs to be done. Thanks for your time and help Hermie!
