Leaving in a couple of hrs for the first ride of the year. A friend and I are just heading up to the cabin today for a quick ride with our sons. His sled has not made it home from his last 2 rides (burn downs) so he's hoping to keep it running while I hope to have to tow that dang ski doo in! I'll post some pics tonight hopefully.

Have fun

I'm jealous! Have tons of fun and let us know how it was. Ski Doo's don't burn down, do they? ;)

We made it back (even the Ski Doo) and had a great time. Put on about 80 miles. The trails right in and around Finland were all groomed. The NSST was not yet groomed but they are supposed to be doing it this weekend yet. The moosewalk was partially groomed and they hope to finish that and the Timberwolf (powerline) trail tomorrow. There is plenty of snow on the NSSt to groom it, several wet spots though. The Tomahawk trail has not been touched between the NSST and the Trestle Inn and they are some bad wetspots, not bad for a sled but bad for a groomer. Ran a bunch of forest roads an they were awesome. Ran some that we were making first tracks on and it was great. Overall, it was a good early season ride. About another foot of snow now that trails are getting packed and groomed and it will be awesome up there.
