You had to drive an hour each way to reach him? Sounds like he makes a great product but his customer service needs major help. He isn't answering the phone to avoid problems. You are much better off addressing the problem by answering your customer's calls and telling them what's going on. They will appreciate that as oppossed to avoiding them and leaving them in the dark. Not good!

It is differnt buying from Scott for sure but well worth it. We are very faithful customers because nothing like Triple points on the market & Scott totally stands behind his product. Scott is a friendly & humble guy doing the best he can to provide us all with a great carbide. I bought early in off season & have spares so not waiting for the Bergstrom winter crush. You can avoid the in season waiting by purcashing in summer plus get a fat discount. Just a better way to handle your purchase for all involved.:)

I'm curious why he doesn't produce more in the offseason so he doesn't have this problem? How can he give a fat discount when it sounds like he can't keep up with production? It's just no way to run a business, that's all, and whitedust, you must honestly know that. You keep spare carbides? I have 11,000 miles on my factory set and just replacing now.

Bergstrom does make some carbides in summer but really can't make a bunch & not have cash flow to pay for carbide. Scott also does not know what big 4 will do with new model year skis so can't design until he knows. Also Scott does not know what sleds, skis, engine size & size of carbides to premake. Again small biz so you need to cut the guy some slack & buy preseason plus spares. I'm just glad Scott is there each year so I'm ok with his small biz & place my order in summer & works well for me.

Wow, the only way I could get that mileage on a set of stock, oem set of carbides is by taking them off when new and putting them back on when the sled had 10,500 miles on it!

Maybe it was the early season conditions (some road rash) that trashed my triple points, but I am not impressed. Between the strange customer service, very extended wait and the performance, I am going back to shaper bars for my nickel.

Did you use the skisavers & shims? Scott will tell you when you order if you don't shim bars will wear. I didn't shim first pair of single Bergstrom bars got about 2400 miles then started to break loose in corners. Shimmed the triple points & wear is even & triple points do self sharpen. I guess if you put lots of bare road miles anything bars will wear.

Going to shim city

The only reason I like my duel runners, is for the darting. I don't have any, but the cornering isn't worth a crap, even with 9inchers.
Those triple points probably corner great, but what about the darting issue?

To STOP darting:

SHIM the backside (BEHIND the ski -spindle bolt) of the ski between the rubber and the ski saddle.

Scott will give them to you for free, or you can make them from old hyfax's or 1/4" thick plastic or aluminum.

Info is on his website, and it WORKS!!!

I've read all the info on Bergsgtrom's web site more than once over the last several years. I've also read lots of posts from people who are happy with the product. The part that I keep wondering about - If the ski savers and shims are such miraclef devices or darting, why don't the manufactures use them or redesign the skis to same set up in the first place?

Somewhere on his website your question is answered, The big 4 politely led him to the door cuz his product wouldn't be good for carbide and pick sales as his carbides are made to last.
