With a triple bypass in late August, I figured I'd be back to 4000 miles so i was a bit disappointed that I only rode 1500 on WI twistys.......Had a great year. My riding partner rocks and so did the trails. EH,PLUS

Glad everything went well with the ticker repair and you were able to enjoy the season.

You had a triple bypass? Good Lord. I think I'd be done sledding.

Boy - some of you seem rather generous with your grades. I live in central WI and I'd have to give it a C+. I know that most people with say "WHAT? You guys had tons of snow! There was 3 feet on the ground at one point. How could you rate it a C?" ..... Well, for December and January, all the storms seemed to go north or south of central WI. There was literally one point at which the entire state had snow, except us. So until early Feb, it was a rough ride, and lots of trailer time to find some decent conditions. But when the snow hit in Feb - man did it hit hard. It was some of the best riding I have ever seen in the Wausau area. And it would have been awesome right up to the end of March if it hadn't been for 3 days of solid rain. That brought everything to a screeching halt. Dec F ... Jan C ... Feb A ... Mar C ..... That's how I rate the overall season as a C+

Been reading others posts and I have to agree with those that game a flat "B" grade. I live in Green Bay and we had great conditions for 3.5 weeks (mid-Feb to March 7) and I rode tons from home.

At the beginning of the season I had two trips to Houghton that were fun at the time but in retrospect were not that great;
-Trip 1 January 17ish. I was riding with Slim north of Phoenix a few miles and I rode off trail 2 feet next to a small lake and got stuck in slush cause the lake was not frozen, I got off the sled and went up to my knees in water and had to end the ride early. Any other year on the same date there were guys tracking that lake everywhere, it was just a warm beginning to the season this year.
-Trip 2 January 23ish. A good size non lake-effect storm dropped about 7 inches of wet heavy snow. This snow may have "set-up" the trails but was too packy to be a great ride as it also packs and makes bumps quickly.

I did have a great backpack ride with Harvest last week of Feb from Minocqua, WI and all over Western, MI.

Perhaps now fuji should let others have the honor of making the first tracks, and possible results of, on a lake? Many others have also experienced what you did! Eh, the temptations!

Yeah, I was stupid I know.
Some douches were blocking the trail because they stopped and were scared of a small drainage ditch crossing so I tried to pass; bad idea.

I would give my season a C grade, it could have been a B or even an A except my sled broke down in late February so I missed out on some of the best riding in years. I did run the groomer here in March for about 200 miles to get my snow fix and the snow was deep. We groom mostly the highway ditches on both sides of US#2 between East Grand Forks and Crookston, MN and early in the season when crossing a side road the groomer has to climb up to 8 feet from the ditch to the road, and on the last grooming I had to drop down a couple of feet onto most crossings

I'd give mine a B....as opposed to 2 seasons ago when I got in ZERO miles (health issues)...the only reason I didn't go higher on grading is because my season ended 3 wks ago when I fell on ice at a local hotel and boogered up right leg....still having some issues but some around here are still going to the "bitter end"........

Make this off season the time to take of yourself so there are many more to enjoy.
