Gloves Stolen out of Sled

Please beware - I stopped at Root Cellar in Gogebic and went in for dinner. When I came out someone stole my brand new Ski-doo snowmobile gloves out of my bag on my sled. Was keeping them in there because my old ones were
getting bad. I guess I will have to be more careful not to keep anything of value in there since there is a thief out there.

Just want people to be aware.

Doesn't surprise me. About 15 years ago had my gloves stolen. Fellow sledders or not, I trust nobody. I don't leave my gear by the doors in bars, in my sled, basically anywhere out of my sight or touch. I know some bar/restaurant owners don't like your belongings all over the place, but until they pay for my stuff, they can kiss my arse.

That SUCKS!! Even tho we should kinda know not to leave anything that CAN be taken...I think we still expect just a little better from our fellow snowmobilers! Sorry about that! Karma's a b!#@$ tho...so I'm sure whoever tooke them will have their day! :D

That sucks atleast it was your spare pair.I got ready to leave a local pub one night on the sled and some jerk had stole my Jacket.Had to ride home that night with a borrowed carhart jacket.

Rode to a local bar ( for food ) w/ son & budd, we came out and my sons sled belt was missing, yes it was one of those expensive belts 189... there was no other sleds even around. Since I'm not adjusted to society correctly, I went in and offered the bartender $500 if they found any info out after the fact that would lead to the culprit.... SO I COULD BURN HIS HOUSE DOWN ! That's what I call an eye for an eye !

Maybe it's just me but I would never for a second think about going thru someones bags or their sled with the intention of taking something if I liked it. What the **** is wrong with people? If I saw someone rooting thru my sled or trunk I would serve them a knuckle sandwich no questions asked!

Been riding for quite a few years, and this kind of stuff happens now and again. A few years ago we sat and watched some guy checking out all the helmets at a bar we stopped at. He finally pulled the gloves & mask out of mine and started walking out with my brand new helmet, (with my name printed across the front). He never made it to the door.

Someone stole the gas cap off my sled last winter. I'm guessing they forgot to put theirs on after fueling up, and decided to ruin someone else's day so theirs wouldn't be. Worst part was that it was in the middle of a snow storm. I had to have my system flushed because my tank was full of snow. The new gas cap I bought has a lock on it. :)

never had anything stolen from me yet. I am a trusting person and I know it will come back to bite me in the A@@ some day. Just remember, its the vast minority that steal that makes a bad name for the larger group. Still makes me mad though!

I too had my gas cap stolen in Grand Marais at the LSBC. Stuffed a rag in the neck and rode back with gas all over me. Spent $70 the next day for a used cap at the rental shop in Seney. Man I was hot, but what you gonna do???

Anybody have any good ideas for keeping the hood locked down so at least your spare belt won't walk off? I'm not talking about full security for when you're leaving the sled out overnight somewhere but just something that would deter the thief to not take a look to see if you have a spare belt while you are grabbing lunch.

Indy, I think you might have been looking into something like this for when you rode your sled to school (back when it snowed in central Wisconsin).
