The trails were all great, with the exception of that short section of 3. It's the section from the Mohawk business spur, south to the 17 split. I don't know if it's the snow, the base, or the grooming equipment, but it just wouldn't hold a groom.
The snow even looked different at the edges, like potato sized clumps were coming out from under the skid. Considering the conditions changed right at the point where one groomer goes north from Mohawk, and the other goes south, it had me thinking it must be something to do with the skid. I ride a snowmobile, and have never driven a groomer, so take my opinion for what it's worth.
Most importantly, thanks to all the groomers for their hard work! I truly enjoyed the awesome trails!
That's the only rough/mogul part I encountered when I was up there from 1/29 - 2/1. Sunday night was like that, but was much better when I went through on Tues, 1/31(4pm). Thanks to all the groomers indeed!! Only 20 "rough/ moguls" miles, out of 500 miles! Fantastic, unbelievable conditions, and not much traffic up there.
Much looked like the pic!
