Gogebic grooming, are they doing it yet?

I stayed on the lake last weekend and rode Fri - Sat - Sun. I rode mainly north and east but thought the trails were good to very good. Bergland - LOC - White Pine - Ontonagon was excellent. 13 to Rockland was groomed each morning but rough in the afternoon. I did not ride south but trail across US 2 to Marenisco was groomed Monday morning on my way home.

At the lodge as I write, it's butal. Having fun on the lake dragging my cousins, but the trails are pointless. Can't get a straight answer why 13 north is closed north of the root cellar. Asked Rick at the root cellar, he was a pleasure to speak to. lots of cowboys in town , maybe biz is good and they dont need to care?

I was up there Riding Thursday 2/15 and 2/16, not sure what trails you rode, but I did 1 north, 100, 8 ,& 13 north out of Bergland (13 north was the only one that was rough) all others were good, considering we had a 40 degree day on 2/14. We put on over 300 miles based out of Lake Gogebic and the trails where fine. As for 13 north from the root cellar, simple explanation, trail was closed due to logging this year.

I just got home from up there and the trails I rode around Lake Gogebic were freshly groomed except 13 at 5:30 on Saturday night, but that is what you expect on Saturday night. I try to avoid weekends, but had today off so made a quick 3 day trip with 2 others. Was in Copper Harbor this morning at the Mariner and got home about an hour ago. Great trails over all!

Put on 940 miles last week based out of Wakefield. We rode through Gogebic area every day on various trails. It was the best grooming we have seen so far this season. Low snow on 8 going to Bruce was a little hairy. That had nothing to do with grooming. 13N was hit and miss based on groomer schedule. Seems to be worst hit trail with the re-route through the woods. Appears to be a tough one to groom, but the snow is good.

Yes, there is ice in some of the corners with traffic. Gets worse on the winding stuff. But, I consider it pretty good for the temps and snow cover.

This year really highlights the quality of grooming without fresh snow all the time. They are doing pretty good around Gogebic with the snow they do have on the ground.
