Gogebic to paradise

Any input would be awesome.

Would backpack to paradise hope to do it in one day. We can pull off 350-400 in a day with good trails. Michigamie could really screw us over and so could east of big bay through Marquette then west of munising. Once we hit that point should be epic the rest of the way. Maybe even stay in paradise for another night and ride around there I have heard nothing but great things.

Let's talk about this...

You may want to check out a previous discussion on "Watersmeet to Munising" as it covers much of your concern.
My advice is to drop off in Munising and then ride to Paradise. In the past I have ridden Munising to Paradise (this includes the loop near the Edmund Fitzgerald disaster) and back to Munising in one day with great conditions and rode about 320 miles.
Also, whatever you do, do it mid-week as the weekend trails in the area are notoriously bumpy as the corridor is ridden by hundreds a day.

for sure mid week. planning on being up there on sunday night. start this journey on tuesday

im thinking total miles ares going to be more like 450-500 from gogebic to paradise.

gogebic to bigbay = 160ish
bigbay to munising = ???
munising to paradise = 160ish

We rode that same ride from Watersmeet last week. Trail 8 thru the power lines and over the rocks was terrible. It was only a 10-15 section everything else was fine. From Marquette over to Munising, Grand Marias and Paradise was amazing. If I do that ride over again I would start at the Buckhorn south of Munising and ride from there. More time to explore the sights, we found that we spent a lot of time pushing so hard to make are destination that it didn't leave us enough time to explore. I have seen all the sights but others in are group hadn't and we felt bad.

Any thoughts about taking trail 7 from buckhorn down through Manistique and through Curtis and up to Newberry. is there enough snow and trail acceptable on this southern route?

"Trail 8 thru the power lines and over the rocks was terrible" ]- wanted to do back pack east of watersmeet and wanted to know where this is located. Thanks

I meant to say a 10 mile section. Someone in another thread had a name for that area, I will look and see if I can find it or at least the cities I believe it's around. If that area has picked up snow it might be better. I will report back when I find out the name.
