If not and it is just a melt down... it still may be a " leave it alone " deal.
My SD when burned down, had cracks starting in between the Exhaust ports and the RAVE blade slot. If you start replacing cylinders & pistons & ect.... then might as well add a PTO bearing leaking ISO.... you will be out 2k before you know it.

Just saying .... but at that point , some times a deal is not a deal ! Not to mention how many miles the sled may have and it's general condition......

Then to add injury to insult .... with my new cyl, when I did a leak down.... I still had a pressure loss, very small but was able to track in down to the perosity in the casting , leaking air , very small bubbles but enough to drive me crazy , dropping a few lbs over several minutes....
Just for the record.... I do love my SD..... not bashing here. Just stating facts for the OP to make his decision on.

Could easily be $2K to 2.5k to do it right & not screw someone else. I would part it out & be done.

Black cloud performance is something me and some friends started in high school just messing with our trucks lifting them. Turbos and so on well we all ended up going to school for diesel and we made black cloud performance an official side buisness since we all have normal day jobs. Its nothing big but its more of a fun buisness for us and keeps us all out of trouble with the wives. We deal mostly. In diesel's but two my guys are awsomr with small motors sleds dirt bikes stuff like that. And anyways the doo from what I understand needs a new top end. And just gone through I've asked my leadman Nick to look at it being a ski doo Guy and all but he's got a newborn baby girl and has yet to get away which I fully understand that's why I'm asking everyone from john Dee I've got a lot of help from this site before

just got off the phone with a dealership down here told me they can get a crate motor for the sled and it would be 1600 plus shipping to my house.......to me seems like alot of money for an older motor but i dont know any ideas????

Like everyone here has commented, you will get what you pay for. The Boyseen reeds & dbl ring psitons & cylinders /w exchange are all expensive items. ( for the good stuff ) even at 1600 ( ???? the motors are notorious for carb boot leaks, & PTO bearings ) and the initial payment of $600 ... that leaves you with 2200 in and a whole lotta work. How much is a new / used 7 yr old sled worth on the market ? Answer... not too much more if your lucky.

Pass or part it, only summit I would risk it on because it is the " chit " is the 2007 XRS 800 summit. That would be worth the risk in my book but to each their own.

mjk out !
