Google Type Cam on Sled in UP?

With alla the treads on here about riding the yoop, has anyone else seen the orange Cat with the 4 way mast cam mounted on the tunnel ?
We saw him in and around Harvey/ Marquette last Saturday the 22nd.
I wanted to ask what he was doing, but the group I rode with buzzed on by.
Any info?

Well if that is a pic of a google cam I guess I was wrong .This set up I saw was on a 2012 ish cat and alot smaller with what looked like 4 cameras encased in a clear cover on a 2" mast with cables ....a much lighter weight set up.....I suppose it could have been a business develping an app of the UP trails, with intersection views.

well with all the updating Google has been doing to there maps over the yrs and in turbo mode now could very well be pic mapping trails

if you google map to Bessemer I cant remember which hill for sure (I think indian head) you can go up and down all the ski runs with "street view" and you can tell its a snowmobile they have set up for doing so because you can see shadows at different angles. so ya I bet they are slowing moving across the UP

You can do the same at Big Powderhorn as well!
