Got another dog

Our family was missing having a dog so we had been looking for some time now. We looked at many different placed where we could adopt a dog but just couldn't find the right match. About a week ago we got a call from the lady at the Ontonagon humane society and she said they were going to get a surrender dog the next day and if we had any interest she would allow us to see her. The dog was a lab/pointer mix 15 month old female. She was already house broken and knows commands fairly well. As soon as I saw her I knew she was the one and so did the rest of the family. We absolutely love this dog and wow, she is a great dog and the best coat for minimal shedding. Her name was Cinder May and we may just keek that name. Never had such a fast running dog, she's like lightning!

Congrats! She looks like she is comfy in her new home. A happy dog is a tired dog. Enjoy!-Mezz

Good for you, enjoy your first summer together!! Our current dog is also a Rescue, the mother was a Yellow Lab and the father a Fox Terrier.

Very cool Lenny. Good to see that she has already claimed a spot on the couch. I'm betting the whole family is thrilled to have a new family member and making a rescue dog's life better is a good feeling. One of our dogs (the Rat Terrier) was a rescue dog - sort of. She was born at the shelter. Incredible dog and a joy to have in the pack.

thanks guys! Yesterday we drove to Wausau to meet friends at the water park. We left at 2 pm and got home late at 1 AM. The dog didn't chew, pee, get in the garbage or anything. Cinder did perfect and we couldn't be happier!

With all the dogs we have had over the years I have yet to have one as affectionate and cuddley as this one. Cinder is the total package.

That's great news Lenny! She looks like you had been playing hard with her and she needed to lay down for a rest. Sounds like a perfect match for both your family and the dog. I think she's very lucky to have such a great home and you guys seemed thrilled too. Perfect!!

We have Pugs started with a rescue dog, she was liberated from a puppy mill. Out of 4 we've had over the years only 1 was gotten from a breeder. I believe that dogs from rescue org. Seem to know you are giving them the good life they deserve.

Lenny, Congrats to you and your family!

And a special congrats to the winner of the Western UP Lottery Winner from the week of April 13th, 2015...Cinder May!! Those Rescue pups do seem to warm up to a loving environment quick!

Now if I could just find my loaf of bread I left on the counter this morning? Found the wrapper! ;-)

Will be up next weekend with some fellow FIBs looking at camps Lenny. That Aussie of mine loves to run and play. Bring JR down, and we can rescue some barley and hops from the local store. The pups can wear themselves out, while we catch up. For those that think I'm a Poo hater...not so. I would buy a New RMK 800 if my wife would let me. Lol. She doesn't wear the pants in the house, but she does advise me on what pair I should wear.
