Got Smoke?

Holy crap, is it smoky out there! I would say visibility is under a mile. This stuff is thicker than the smoke in the local VFW forty years ago.

Wondering how widespread this is in the Midwest?

We've got it in Eastern Wisconsin. A few days ago we could smell it. Now just hazy on a sunny day. Those sneaky Canucks are always causing trouble!

We have hazy skies skewing the sun here in the Keweenaw. We have had air quality alerts for the last 4 days. Could actually smell smoke last Thursday & Friday.

Hazy here in Iowa. Not terrible, but caused us to miss out on seeing the Northern Lights last night. They are thinking it should clear up late tonight or tomorrow for our area.

Amazing how widespread this stuff is and how thick it gets at times. This can't be good for people with lung/breathing issues. Much better in NW Minnesota/Ontario the last couple of days but still hazy and you can still smell smoke.

Don't know if getting some rain would help but there is none in sight and we need rain badly. It's bone dry around here. I can't even recall the last time we had measurable rainfall.

Yeah Gary, the standard Canadian greeting has become "Pretty Smoky, Eh."

We had less than 1/2" of rain for the day yesterday which was far less than forecasted & we too are bone dry. The rain event didn't really do much with the smoke smell or the haze. Still a slight haze today, but not as bad as it was yesterday though we still have air quality alerts out.
