This summer I purchased a Garmin colorado 400t. I am trying to wire it up to power it off of the sled. I had a little regulator made to go from the sled at about 13v ac to 5v dc. I then wired a mini usb plug onto that with the 1 pin at +5v and the 4 pin for the ground, pin 'x' is wired to pin 4 with a 2k ohm resistor, which from my research is how you get the unit to go into the charge mode, not the data transfer mode for the computer. When I wire it all up to the sled then plug the gps into it the unit just turns off. Any ideas what I did wrong?
