Grand Marais gas

Completely agree! especially with last sentence 200%!!! Treated or not!

Yep! My diesel equipment fuel filters proves beyond doubt that stabilizing fuel works. Fuel filter problems gone! K 100 is also a octane booster so as can get you out of a bad situation. On back packing trips, or stranger to the area, I always have it in my sled storage/trunk just in case.

After a years time doesn't the octane level drop down below the 91? I've been told that could be in the mid to upper 80's by that time. I'm not an expert in this area but am curious about this. I usually siphon out the left over gas in my toys at the end of each season and pump into my vehicles so I'm starting each season with fresh fuel. In the rare event this doesn't happen I will add some octane boost in the first tank and take it easy on the sled until I can top off with fresh fuel.

Not sure how much octane loss in a year but have not had a problem. With that said fuel tank right before Christmas use it in 2 strokes all winter come spring and summer goes into 4 stroke atv’s , pwc, and boat. And a older 2 stroke boat. No fuel stablizer or octane boost never had problem.

One last thing I will agree gas problems can happen and using stabilizers is a good thing and I do put them in the individual units as I put them away for the year just don’t treat the entire tank all at ones, probably should just haven’t. And non Egas will last a lot longer and cause less problems the older it gets. Once I started bring 91 octane home for all the 2stroke yard tool and chain saws I’ve had no issues with them either.

When possible I even try to put 5 gallons of non-ethanol in the truck before I fill up the sleds, boats or jerry cans. In my mind, I think I'm getting better gas then some ethanol blend that was left in the line.

I have been in the habit of stabilizing every time I purchase to fill cans. Its such a cheap insurance, and never had a problem. Always premium fuel as well. Just knowing its ethanol free usually will work, but I do it anyway. I even purchase my fuel in Wisconsin and bring back 10 gal at time for anything with a motor for my home in Illinois.

I gassed up at both the Paradise station and the 76 station that is near the big falls this week and had no issues. Both stations are pumping huge amounts of fuel per day even during the week. Both times I bought non-ethanol for the same reasons as stated above and I do not treat my fuel because it is gone in a day! Since switching to non-ethanol in all my small engines I have not had any fuel issues. I also pump a little into my vehicle 1st when filling cans and I am careful with cans not to expose them to huge temperature swings which can cause additional condensation. Such as leaving outside on the ground in 10 degree temps and then bringing into a warm heated garage or vice versa. I have witnessed guys filling sleds and letting snow fall into the tanks off the handle bars etc. Gotta use a little common sense!

Sure could be.
Doo E-Tecs allow the rider to avoid G.M. on their ride to Paradise, MI..FYI.

They should be able to make that trip because every time they fuel up it's like watching someone perform the Heimlich maneuver. It takes them 15 minutes to fuel up not to mention the nurse tanks they all have strapped to the tunnel...LOL...

Puzzling? Not me. Perhaps the back country riders?

I hate filling up my 2014 ski-doo in front of a line of people at the gas station, I must look like an idiot having to sit on my sled's bumper twice to burp the tank, to get the last 1.25-1.5 gallons in the tank. Darn ski-doo fuel tank design (or lack there-of design)!

When was the last time you rode?

Sad to say only to load my sleds last month. We have had snow, but never enough at one time to ride. Can't get up north til months end. Canada looks more, and more possible too.

As to wiharly02, wife and I, or riding bud, fuel both of our sleds at the same time, and don't slow down anyone, as compared to any other Poo, or whatever. Way faster than as a group, but all being separate purchases. Try that out! Most lines are waiting for premium anyway. Our sleds get good enough mpg's, if there is a line we just go on to the next gas stop. That being unless we are in Canada. Never had anyone complain as yet.

Please tell me you are being sarcastic. So it takes the same amount of time to fill a tank as any other sled minus the 10 seconds to burp tank, so can’t think you are serious.
