Green Bay Packers Stock Sale

They can't sell the $300 shares fast enough, the internet is backed up and phone lines are busy! I'll admit, as a long time Packer fan, I am tempted. They call it a Stock Sale but really, they're just selling memorabilia. Something to hang on the wall of the Man Cave. Still, 300 dollars, that's almost 100 gallons of gasoline or a new jacket for sledding, or a shopping cart with T Bones and Ribeyes. How about 2 shares of AAPL that actually return on your investment.
But still....I'm tempted. I've been watching these guys play football since I was in Junior High, been to many games at Lambeau, and met a few players over the years. Not going to do it today, maybe they'll sell out before I make up my mind. Should mention, my wife says go for it, "consider it an early Christmas". So I got that going for me, which is nice. Here's a link to the facts;

I get the fact they don't have rich owners (which is kinda cool) and it's one way to raise money but at least give some kinda benefit.....free stadium access/tours or something.

I went as a guest of a shareholder a few years ago. They gave us a tour of the Hutson Center and took us out on Nitschke Field.

$120 tickets $40 parking, $10 beers and $12 burgers..why can't they pay for their own improvements..stock buyers are idiots.

Yes, I'm a season ticket holder.

More than 3,000 Idiots bought stock on Tuesday morning. I think Green Bay looks at this like any other business owner would. If you have an untapped source of revenue you'd be an "idiot" not to pursue it. It's unique to Green Bay and if it's available and helps pay for growth of the business, why not. As to the prices you quote, the tickets are competitive with other teams and as the beer, burger & parking, I cringe to think what they're paying in L.A. & New York.

My wife is getting an early Christmas gift. Yes, it's a novelty that goes with our collection of Packer stuff. She is now an "owner." We will be going to the annual Owners Meeting at Lambeau and getting VIP treatment at numerous events sponsored by the Pac.

Don't forget all these "businesses" received a ton of money from COVID funding like PPP loans etc.

Nice for Packer fans if you want to blow your money, but to me its just a scam, a Bernie Madoff scheme.
The difference between the Packer's stock sale is that they (the Packers) tell you that there will be no return or increase in value on the stock and that the stock cannot be resold. Anyone buying this stock going knows fully well that the money paid is a donation to the team. Bernie Madoff inferred that there would be a return on your funds and even provided false documents showing dividends, capitol gains and increased values on your account. Madoff deceived all his investors from the beginning. Comparing the Packer's stock sale with Bernie Madoff's investments are like comparing snow and crushed granite.

Not disagreeing about corporate welfare but this is not from tax payer money. Yes it’s a way for the public to help if they want but not forced to like taxes. Bottom line it’s not a scam or anything else except for a way fans can be part of there team.
