Rode out of Beaver Creek Lodge, Logan Canyon UT. (http://www.beavercreeklodge.com/) We rode the UT / ID border for a day. The snow conditions were minimal compared to the past, but still had decent snow. You can see they hadn't seen much recent snow from pictures, but we still found powder. Saw 6 other sleds that day. Our Guide was top notch, I would recommend this place to everybody. Only 1.5 hours out of Salt Lake. Rode rental 800 Summits that were set up awesome. Check out all of my pics at http://www.trailsinc.org/pics/2007/Web/

Forgot to add - If you want to see more pictures of this area take a look at Ski-doo's website. All of the new sled pictures "might" have been taken there for the past few years.

GroomerDave - I've been out of touch for awhile, but thanks for a great memory.

I was stationed in Logan at Utah State Univ back in the early 80's on ROTC duty. I couldn't afford a sled back then on Army pay, but I did love the natural surroundings out there.

We skiied at Beaver Mountain (again because I couldn't afford the high end areas to the south) and learned Nordic skiing during my three years and some in "Happy Valley" as many of us non-locals called it.

We rented in Smithfield, seven or so miles to the north. Having grown up in Chicago and northern Illinois, living there was an eye-opener to say the very least.

And suddenly this all sounds familiar...Did you post about this before the trip? Seems like I've been here before. Sorry to bore you with that
