Hacksaw track

How is the Hacksaw track vs a ripsaw or a cobra? I came across a new take-off cheap, but it looks to me like it's a 100% trail-only track. Just curious on opinions. Thanks.

Real similar to the ripsaw IMO, the 1/4" doesn't make that much difference. My dad has the hacksaw on his sled and ripsaw on mine and the difference is minimal.

I had a hacksaw on my sled. I hated it. That .25" makes a big difference. But I will say I tend to ride more aggressive. Just cruising it doesnt matter what track you use.

.25" make a difference but not when your comparing ripsaw to hacksaw.

Thanks for the input. Turns out the track is a 128" anyway. Tracksusa told me I can add this track to my sled without tunnel extensions (just rail extensions), but I think if I'm going to do that, I'd like to get a little more track. The price was only $225 and apparently it was a new take-off, so that's why I was interested. Too bad it's not something with a little more tread to it...

Do you guys know what the Predator track is like? Tracksusa has a 121" for $375 compared to the Cobra for $475. To my untrained eye it doesn't look much different from the Cobra. I'll call tracksusa but I thought I'd throw it on here also...

Never used it.

I am assuming you are from IN, but I have seen a few cobra tracks on craigslist in S WI areas this fall brand new for $400. Just thought Id throw that out there.

I put a new ripsaw on my zr 800 last year and love it. If you are willing to travel, come up to Kens sports and purchase one. He will save you a good chunk of money.

I called tracksusa today. They said on trail cobra and predator would be similar but off trail the cobra would be better.

I have ordered a few things from kens before...are their prices better on tracks than tracksusa? I bought a track once from trckssa and got a great deal I thought

There is no comparison between the Hacksaw and the Predator or the Cobra. The Hacksaw works fine on packed trail....anything else and it sucks. The Ripsaw/Hacksaw design doesn't hook up in loose snow nearly as well as the Predator or the Cobra. For the money, the Predator is an excellent track....the Cobra hooks up excellent as well, but probably not worth an additional $100.

I ran a Predator track on my 2000 ZL. In my opinion, the Predator 121 was better than the 136 Rip Saw that came stock on my X-Fire. Though, neither of these compare a 2" Challenger 144, at least for my kind of riding.-Mezz
