Ok, Ok, I know there is not powder over the hood conditions right now, but cripes, it's only December 1st. Historically, there is usually only a few inches of snow on the ground up here at this time of the year. Also, historically, things usually change in fairly dramatic fashion as we go through the first 14-18 days of the month, so be patient, the snows will come, the powder will be over the hood in time.

Thanks John. Happy December 1st to you too (and everyone else of course). I was happy to look out the window this morning and see a light covering on the ground and snow trickling down here in mid-michigan. I know it wont stay, but it still had me smiling from ear to ear. Perfect way to remind me that it was opening day!

Think I might have even had an extra bounce in my step as I busted out the new winter coat just for the occasion.

it's a good day!!!!!It's cold and there is a little snow on the ground. I hope everybody has an awesome riding season!!!!!!!!

MN trails open

I was asked this morning when our club was going to get out and groom. Here in MN there will be enough snow to ride in many places. Please, everybody keep in mind that a typical groomer rig weighs more then a diesel pickup pulling a loaded 4 place enclosed trailer. A lot of trails in MN go thru low areas, Many clubs will not be able to groom until more frost is in the ground.

Many of those low areas have not been gone thru and checked for obstacles yet. Driving sleds on the low ground will help push the frost down, but getting stuck in mud isn’t very fun. Use caution on those first rides thru the trails. If you run across a trail closed sign, that means even though the trails are open now, that section for some reason is closed, please turn around. Also if you come across a closed gate, leave it alone and turn back.

I plan on taking the risk of early season riding this week, but no cross county rides just yet.

Happy Opening Day Everyone! Just looked out the window and it's really snowing!! WooHoo!! Watersmeet and Bruce Crossing Groomers are ready, trails have been check and are good to go! Now we just need the snow!

So lets all

Think Snow!!!

hey its even snowing in O-H-I-O got a dusting over night here guess my lawn mower season and leave raking season is OVER!!!!!! Yahoooooo!!!! Be safe you all to !!!! It's deer hunting season down here so if we even if we had decent trails and we had more snow you could not go out riding down here period !!!! THINK SNOW + ROCK + ROLL:D

John, the snow is over the hood here in northern idaho. no base yet so its all road riding, but its a ball. even though i moved out of midwest i still follow your forecast and discussion board. your welcome out here any time.
