Hey John, is there any years past where we had a winter like we had this year. I know they have been keeping records for a 100 years or so, but have there been winters where the jet stream stayed far north for most of the winter. Just wondering if where in a cycle, if it has happened before, and what to expect for next year if where in a pattern.

We have had plenty of mild winters in the past 100 years. To say that there has been a winter exactly like this one might require a lot of research, but there have been mild winter in the past and also winter with less snow for many areas of the Midwest.

I don't see it as a cycle, just the luck of the draw.
