How's the riding in Hazelhurst? Do they have anything for a base?
Gonna be a cold one this week....headed up Friday...
Thanks in advance...

Rode the Bearskin Saturday from Minocqua down to Nokomis area. It was better than I thought it would be. It was thin, but snow covered! Don't know what the warm weather on Sunday did to it. I plan on heading back up on Friday as well.

I also rode the Bearskin Saturday from Nakomis up to Hazelhurst and back. It was better than expected, but still not something I will be going back for unless they receive significant snowfall. The areas on the south side closer to Tomahawk where it leaves the RR grade and goes into the woods for a bit were terrible. Rocks everywhere and corners were nothing but ice. Not the end of the world, but still not ideal riding conditions. It's pretty bad when all you hear from your left ski is nothing but rocks when you are on the grade. Not trying to say stay home but have a back up plan. The lakes however were great! I could have spent all day going from lake to lake to lake.

Rode the area last weekend. Not a smooth trail to be found. The trails are thin and corners are pure ice. I don't know what was going on but i didn't see any evidence of a groomer thurs-sat. There was a lot of traffic that didn't help. It was better than not riding at all but still frustrating!

that area is called the "rock garden"..it's terrible no matter how much snow we have...it's a thin year...cant change that

What??? Most of the "four strokers"are probably touring riders or older...highly doubt they are the problem....the young "ricky racers" with their loud cans, and 1.5 inch snow cross lugged tracks are probably more of an issue.
