head lights

Was thinkin bout putting some brighter head lights in my sled. Was thinkin bout one of those hid kits or something similar. Anyone else change out their bulbs for something brighter or maybe the blue tint ones? What's your thoughts?

I tried the blue zenon bulbs in my. 600 classic. Did not like them because of contrast with the snow. The light seems brighter, but does not help see much better. I put halogen lights back in. Just another opinion. Good luck

I posted the same questions a few weeks back and all I received nothing but crickets, No one seemed to have much to say I did some searches on the western sites and found some good info

Hey for trail riding don't blind me & oncoming sleds for powder do whatever you need to see. Maybe some laws prohibiting blue lights in some states so check that out 1st.

Yeah, I like the halogens better. I've ridden with someone with the xenon bulbs and I didn't like them. They seem to light up the trees and brush better , but their color is too white too me. For me anyways, the halogen show the texture of the snow better. That's my 2¢.

I run the blue lights from Brite Lites. They are a white light compared to the more yellow of stock bulbs. I think it is night and day difference from the factory bulbs. I did adjust my lights after install though. If you are seeing the trees they are too far up.

In my Vector and Polaris I run the Brite Lites. The blue xenon.......decription from their site = Blue Xenon Gas Boosted Brite Lite, X-bulb - 100/55watt P43t base- H4 (3-prong) - Intense White or Plasma white beam with a hint of blue color around the beam (like HID systems). Sold per each bulb.

These are very WHITE vs. even the slight brown'ish tint of Silverstar's. They have a very SLIGHT blue hue to them....but to me I think it helps night visibility.

This falls under the catagory of...."as 5 different people and you'll get 5 different answers". Just like whats the best oil to run!!! LOL!!

I have seen people running HID lights on the trail at night and they are BLINDING. Please take this into consideration before buying them. If they make these types of lights with a projector that can be aimed it would be much more appreciated by any oncoming traffic.

I've used silverstars on some sleds in the past and they were a nice upgrade over stock without blinding oncoming riders....easy to change out too.

Thanks for pointing that out off trail AOk but on trail they are blinding can't see anything when right on you & takes awhile for eyes to readjust very danagerous for oncoming sleds been there they are bad news on trail.:(
