headlight dimming while riding

2000 Polaris XC 700 headlight dims while riding. Comes back on after a few seconds. Any ideas what could be the problem?

voltage regulator, same thing happened one my 99 xc 700, eventually, the lights went out for good. happens a lot on this era of polaris sleds. i have 3 1999 polaris' and they are all on their 2nd voltage regulator

If it is your regulator, get a cat one they last longer!
I had dimming probs last time out, found a bunch of carbon build up on switch, plus it was wet. Dont know which one it was, but this got me going again, if the "BLUE" button is ripped, It will get wet!
