Heated shield

New sled has the cig lighter style power supply. Not sure this is way to go. Looks like it may pull out easy. Am I better off splicing in a lead? 2016 xf7000. Thanks!

Thread on arctic chat says the factory port is somewhere above/near the oil reservoir on the right side of the sled.

I run my heated shield cord direct to the battery, then wire tie it to the handlebar riser.

This way the shield is heated when sled is at idle or the sled is turned off while you are chatting along the trail.

I use my 12 volt port for my GPS system.

I run GPS power off the battery as well as the shield. I like to leave the 12v cig plug open for charging my (or others) cell phone.

IDK is that a bad thing? Went to drain the snake forgot I was RCA tethered & broke the insulation at the jack. Would have been better if plug pulled out. Very difficult to find longer RCA wires up here in Vilas other than the BRP standard RCA wiring.
