Bought one for my son 3 years ago. It was end of season and we were at the dealer and as a kid, he was hounding me for it. Dealer wanted to clear out the snow gear and my son was needing to step up from a kids helmet to an adult size. So I picked it up for him. It was a bit big but fits him great now. We did not ride this past year because I had back surgery in November and could not take the chance. However, in the 2019 season he said he really liked it, other then the magnetic breath deflector. I think he only used it for a few hours and then he took it out. He would wear a my old KLIM Glacier Balaclava instead. Which I was happy about because I hated it. At least it ended up being used. He does have the electric shield on the helmet and has never complained about fogging.

I wanted to buy the orange one last year or the year before but my head is too fat!! They only go to 2x. So i bought a castle modular size 3x not happy with it either.

Did you try on the 2XL? I only ask because I know I tried on my son's helmet which I think is a Large and I was surprised that it fit. All be it not comfortably. However, two sizes up might be worth looking at.
I have that Castle X/ Scorpion EXO 950 modular in the 3XL and while I love the helmet the fit is way to tight. My favorite helmet is the Arctic Cat TXI in a 3XL. Never felt like it required a break in time it just fit. The down side is that it was originally design in 1999 or 2000 and other than graphics nothing has changed over the years. On mine even with and electric shield I had one spot right in my line of vision that would fog between the two layers. And I would even ride with it cracked open one notch.
If you compare the two helmets what I noticed is the castle is more egg-shaped or an elongated hole which narrows near your mouth. The Arctic cat helmet is more round in this area giving you more room. And if the 3XL is not big enough for you they've got larger sizes as well...

Lofsfire yes the dealer ordered me a 2x bell helmet way to tight. Sounds like we have the same exact castle/scorpion helmet 3x is way to tight on me sometimes i cant even get it to lock shut. And i hate how the sun lens is always fogged up or iced or all wet. Also ordered the 509 Delta?? Modular at the same time it leaked air sent it back , got heated goggled to go with my 509 attitude motocross style doesnt work too bad except when it gets really cold..below20? I also have that ar tic cat txi ran that for the longest. Yes it fogged up the same as yours. Thinking about getting another one of those or an hjc next. Im getting tired of spending big money on these helmets and they dont work for me.

O2 helmet from BRP. Only thing I will buy from BRP but its good. Last winter was actually to warm to wear it. Had to crack the shield once in a while. Never once needed a balaclava under it.

Ya the last time I had a BRP helmet I removed the sticker. This helmet is a little more difficult to hide that its BRP with the GIANT face shield. I wore it one day and the next day I put my old modular Polaris helmet on and almost felt claustrophobic. Worth the $$'s in my opinion.

Yep sounds like all the same issues.

So I'm not sure who makes the HJC helmets but they are definitely more of a round opening with more space than the Castle/ Scorpion.

As far as the new Doo helmets. Can anyone comment on the fit? All of the older Doo Modular and BVS2 I tried on were the narrow oval style heads in the past making them tight.

I had decent luck with fit on the G MAX 54S modular. But it had lots of fogging issues. Not sure if it was just the one I had (Friends had the same one and they did not have the issues I was having.) I was able to get it warrantied but when the new one came in I ended up just selling it as new and buying the Castle.

As far as that sun shield I haven't heard anyone have really good luck with it not fogging... I was told crack the main shield a little bit when you first drop it. But I have so much heat coming off my head it's like instant ice...
one of the things I wasn't thrilled with with the castle was the height of the visor on the front. I really liked how the TXI was set up it did catch a little more wind but it was actually functional to block the sun.

I agree for the price they're getting a bit ridiculous. Wouldn't be so bad if I could find one I was really happy with... If they would just make the TXI as a modular and with the new crystal clear shields I'd be thrilled! I'd settle for just the better shield.

Last year on the way up we stopped at More Freakin Power for my buddy to pick up a new helmet (his head is just a touch smaller than a beach ball) the biggest they had was a GMAX, he loves it.
