Help needed in the Keweenaw

My son injured his sled today. He lost a front shock on his 2009 M8. I am looking for a replacement so we can ride at least part of Xmas Day. I can beg, borrow, or buy. If anyone has a spare one laying around I would be willing to travel a reasonable distance to pick one up. Since it is Christmas Eve, I am not expecting a miracle, but thought I would post this and see if there is anyone that may be able to help. Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night.

If the parts gods are not with us, we will find other things to do until it is fixed. First casualty on our family Christmas trip since we started coming here 13 years ago

I have fronts for an 07 m8 and 06 if they will work I will try and get ahold of them sadly due to power being out in trout lake they are staying in a hotel for Christmas. Please let me know so maybe I can get someone to the shop.

My base is in trout lake so it will be a drive tho if we can figure it out.

Thanks for the offer Modman. That would be a 4 hour drive one way from Krupps, where we are staying. I think I would be better off waiting for M&M to open up on Saturday. My son may just have to ride Momma's sled tomorrow while she stays home and rests tomorrow ; )

Well I hope everything works out I try and help as much I can I've been in that position before in Minnesota and it seemed like everyone was closed and a john dee member saved the day for us.

Call Kip at Pat's he gets there a little after 7am, only 16 miles away. If he doesn't have what you need he will call his brother Chad at MM in Hancock. Pat's is in Greenland.

Thanks DWZ. I thought Pats place was a Yamaha dealership. Wouldn't expect them to have Cat parts, but I will give him a call. Sounds like he will be there earlier and is definitely closer. Hope you are having a great Christmas

Kip stocks a lot of parts for various sleds. Not saying he'll have what you need, but if he doesn't he can get a hold of Chad early and get things rolling for you up there.

wish i was on earlier Dollar Bay Motorsports in Dollar bay is a parts place new and used form salvage they have helped us out many times in past. Good guys keep them in mind for the next time

All turned out well. Chad at MM was able to hook me up with a new shock Saturday morning. Thanks again Chad, great place and person to deal with.

Snow was OK from Twin Lakes to Southrange. (The only area we rode) Trails were in pretty good shape in that area. Off trail was pretty thin, rideable, but lots of landmines, both solid and liquid. (hence the need for a new shock) It has been snowing off and on for the last 24 hours, and they are calling for more tomorrow night and Tuesday. Bottom line is the snow here will be what you make of it. If you will only be happy putting oh 200 miles a day on perfect trails or riding in over the hood powder, you will be disappointed. If you want to get out and ride a little, relax, and get away, there is plenty of snow for that.

I did get a pretty good chuckle last night when I saw a rider leaving the Mosquito with a shovel in his backpack. I'm not sure where he thought he would find enough snow to get stuck, let alone need a shovel to get out ; )

Overall we had another great Christmas trip.

He probably needed the shovel to put snow onto the trail, not to dig himself out. LOL!:rolleyes: Glad to hear your trip was a success. Come back when we have more snow.-Mezz
