My current machine is getting high on miles....been looking and thinking a little bit and found a Ski-Doo.....My last Ski-Doo was a 1970....The guy selling this says it is a 2003 4-Stroke trail machine.....it appears he is wrong on the 4-stroke and from the Ski-Doo website he also appears to be wrong on the year as well...I am waiting for a reply from him, but can someone tell me what year this is so I can look up the value? And what are people's experiences with this sled? I hope I got the picture attached (sorry, poor quality picture)

The Rev chassis came out in 2003. The first year models had the beavertail, and this one doesn't. So unless somebody modified it (which is entirely possible), I'd say it's at least a 2004.

Sorry, can't help on what engine it might have.

I would be very suspicious of anyone selling a sled this new without knowing what they have. Good Luck!

Doo Dr says it is a 2006 - comparing to the Ski-Doo website I take his word for that....so I assume he made a typo from 06 to 03. Listing it is a 4-Stroke, who knows, maybe he was in a hurry and made multiple errors. I will have to wait for him to respond and go see it in person. Has anyone owned one? Were they notorious for any problems or issues to look for?

Just the limited knowledge of what he is selling is hard to belive although mistakes can happen. One thing to remember when looking at a used sled is how was it stored. A few years ago I went to lansing mich to look at what the owner deemed as two perfect 2003 xcsp edges with less than 500 miles each. He pulled them into a barn with a dirt floor and there they sat for one year until he decided to sell them. When I got there they were frozen to the ground and would not start. The spark plugs were more than likely never coming out again and were now frozen in the motor. He was horrified when I refused to make an offer and was insulted that I thought the sleds were in bad shape!!!

Very difficult to tell from the photo. None of the years seem to match it exactly, but I'm going with 2007. The photos of 2007's on Doo's site show the grab bar in the middle of the handlebars, the small yellow rectangular reflector below the seat, and the "X" graphic (though the graphic colors don't match up). 2005 and 2006 graphics seem to show the Bee rather than an X.

Of course, the owner could have changed all this stuff, so who knows?

At any rate, it doesn't appear that a 4-stroke was offered in this model in any year, so Indy is quite correct.

SC4? Some 05 models had SC3, some had SC4, but I don't think SC5 was out yet.

My 05 with SC3 has two front bogeys per side, the one in this picture has only one per side. Don't know what that means.

(btw....not trying at all to be argumentative, just playing devil's advocate and enjoying this bit of detective work!)

if you can go look at it, there is a stamped number on the right side of the tunnel that will have the year. if he thinks it's a 4 stroke, he don't know what he is talkin about! this sled could be stolen? or call him and get the vin number, say you need it for a bank loan, then call the cops give them the number see if it's hot, it looks like a 2005 rev x. hope that helps ! be careful it sounds like something up.

Definatly what I am thinking, and if not what else is he misinformed about or just plain not telling you. If u don't know much about doos take someone with that does to look at it. And as stated get the vin numbers so you can run it for stolen, and call a doo dealer and have them run the number and they can tell you what it was from the factory. I would not buy this without seeing it first hand though.

maybe the guy isn't very sharp, I looked at a sled a few years ago and the owner said it was a four stroke cuz you didn't have to mix the gas. I asked what kind of oil he put in the oil tank and it was 2 stroke, but you didn't have to mix it in a can and pour it in so it was a four stroke.

The pic is a little deceiving and I'm not exactly sure of the year but I'll stick with my 1st guess. Too many little changes on this sled (Bling Bling). It's not a 4 stroke and could not (no room). ZX platfrom had 4 stroke then it jumped into RT version platform. Descriptions in an add are nothing. Put your hands on the sled and buy it on you impression of condition. I always tell friends buy on what "YOU" think it is worth and not on others opinions. If you did your homework and are vigulant on inspections you'll know.
