There are the remains of an old system that runs from Silver Spring State Park to the north towards rt. 34. My friend lives very close to there and I still see some old signs in the area.

check trail laws in your state.
in mn if riders are on a land owners land with a grant in aid trail on it and get hurt the land owner can not be held libel. but if some one is trespassing and gets hurt with no grant in aid trail system on owners land owner can still be on the hook if the lawyers get involved. I use that as a selling point to land owners.
hey u know some of the a holes are trespassing now better to cover your ars

dont let any one say it cant be done.
the club I am now in is 3 yrs old.
yr 1 there were rumblings of a new club trying to get trails back open. guys were saying same thing at grooming meeting. god bless them for trying all the power to em good luck etc etc.
I quit working for that club the next yr and joined new club.
well this new club has gotten back more trails in 3 yrs than the club I was in had lost in 20.
U wont do it on your own it requires major networking who knows who that knows the guy who owns that parcel type of thing.
try to get sales guys in your club
get your state snowmobile association involved in what u are trying to do.they have the wavers etc
get other clubs involved in your state go speak at there meetings u never know if they know some one in your part of town who owns some land u are trying to use.
not ez but I can tell u I has and is being done as we speak.
googel maps tax maps county maps county surveys etc.

Here are a few people you can contact. First, there are 11 snowmobile regions in the State and Kendall County is in Region 7. The President for Region 7 is Keith Smith. He's the President of Illinois & Michigan Canal Trail Council, Marseilles, IL and his number is 815-674-7396 or email keebler61364@yahoo.com. Then there are Trail Advisors (TA) for a Region. The Trail Advisor for Region 7 is Bill Brown. I don't have any contact information for him since he's not my TA, but I can try to get his contact info from my TA if you want. These two people would be the best able to help you right now. Outside of that you can go to a State meeting. They are in Rochelle at the Beacon on The Green (formally Country Club) on the second Tuesday of each month. I'm not sure about what time the State meetings start but I would assume 7 PM. Also, go to ilsnowmobile.com like previously mentioned and look for a club near you in Region 7 (http://www.ilsnowmobile.com/clubs.html).
