Help with Ethanol Wire - 2011 Polaris 600 CFI

I just took delivery of a 2011 Polaris Switchback 600. I am trying to figure out this Ethanol Wire. I understand that if you are in question of the fuel quality it should be left unplugged. But the question is: If you leave it unplugged and you DO have a full tank of non-ethanol fuel. Can you damage the motor, or do you just not get the most optimal performance available? Any help would be appreciated.

It's only about performance, the Edge machines had an additional key position for the same thing, changes timing a bit, dash light would come on as a reminder which I kind of liked.

Agree with Nickle. I have an 09 with the same plug. You only connect the plug when you've got non-ethanol 93 octane or better. If in doubt, leave it unplugged. It will run crappy if you leave it plugged in and have ethanol gas or low octane. Most people won't even notice the difference between the two. It's very slight.... I know a lot of guys that don't even bother with the plug. Just leave it off all the time.

I just took delivery of my new Pro RMK 800, and I have two plugs, one for non-ethanol fuel and one for ethanol fuel, you should have got both plugs for for your sled, other plug was in my tool kit. The use of the two plugs are in your owners manual.

Thanks for the info guys. My manual mentioned the two different resistor plugs, but the sled did not come with them. Under the hood, there is a sticker showing the simple plug, conected and disconected. Indy, I will post pics tonight!

Plugging the wires together LEANS the fuel out by 5%.

That's the equivalent of 2 jet sizes in rough numbers.

Some guys extend the wires up to the console to a a simple on/off toggle switch.

Plugging the wires DOES NOT affect the timing (like toe EDGE's)

I.M.O. run the sled, take a plug reading, and piston wash reading, then make your own determination.

My 2007 DRAGON 700, with SLP BIG AIR + Flo-Rites (which should make it run LEANER) is 10% LEANER on top (PC-3) and it can still go an E-Z 5% LEANER, maybe more.

My old 2001 EDGE-X 600 came with 430 mains, I ran 400's for 3500+ miles along with a HSP head. That's 7 % LEANER
