I get the names screwed up. What is the name of Trail 7 through Gillet, Mountain etc. ?
Nicolet State Trail.
Might be gated not sure...there ARE gates,. just not sure on when or if they distinguish between a sled season and atv season.

There are several RR grades that are open all year to sleds.....if you want to go.

do ya think we should tell them about the yellow areas on the sleds maps? makes ya kinda wonder if they EVER READ the little yellow boxes that clearly state....the yellow areas are legal to ride until JUNE 1st....I have rode in those areas on leaves for lube with no jacket or shirt...and turned off into woods which had patches of snow to run on....may 29th I think is my latest ride ever

It might vary from place to place, but I think the trails in Michigan are open from Dec 1st till March 31st with or without snow.

Do they gate the trails in Wisconsin during this timeframe?

If the trails are closed and there are gates that can be closed, then they "usually" get closed.

Michigan trails close March 31st at midnight.

You can ride on mud if you want, but the land leases and state trails are open Dec 1st through March 31st NO MATTER WHAT.

I rode 250 miles yesterday in northern lower.

not sure if you ever really read the rules...trails are currently open till APRIL 15th in some parts....as per the DNR SNOWMOBILE RULES....

The opening and closing of snowmobile trails is at the discretion of each county. Snowmobile trails which cross DNR lands are opened and closed consistent with the surrounding county (or counties). Whenever possible, the opening and closing of snowmobile trails is done on a county-wide basis, however localized conditions may require localized trail opening and closing. It is the responsibility of the county to provide notification about the status of snowmobile trails.
