What are the local stations calling for as far as snow events this week?

weather channel says 36 after the warm temps thursday, another said like 6-10. let it play out and dont get your hopes up, johns forecast shows that amount of snow coming but his forecast is towards the hurley area not northern vilas by phelps. anything can change just like johs forecats shows

Looks now like it will be mostly rain.
NBC Rhinelander showing a more northern track than JD puts Vilas and WUPMI in the rain... heavy snow in the MN Arrowhead but as usual a shift in the track south could put Vilas in the snow. A difficult storm to call for the WI northwoods and WUP. I rode today and conditions are on the edge and can't take much abuse even 107 was iffy. No other sleds out they must be smarter than me but I had the itch bad so put on a 100 miles of crap...lol

So...not looking good for this weekend?
XTX back on trailer waiting for a lot more snow. If this storm tracks south Thursday this weekend it could come together if it stays north crap will get crappier and I have had a month of crap and done with crap trails..... Time to break out the trailer for the Keewee!

Yep see how this all works out,local weather losing interest in these storms JD still hanging in there for northern WI and WUP. Rain can change everything for our fav areas to the negative side and will need to start over and wait for a system dumper and groom. Very difficult to plan ahead.... We have cold that is a done deal but a healthy system snow storm just does not happen this year.

i should have taken pix of the perfection durphee and i rode the other nite..mile after mile of hard corners..fast str8's..and not one sled..oh and not one track

and be willing to do it on odd days and odd times..we didnt get off till 5am..and it was golden man

Dan we know where the snow is and we also know where the snow isn't in the UP. We like to spread the wealth to different locations and we like all types of twisty trails plus the wide open stuff that the central UP offers. There is more to riding in the UP than trail 3 ,12 and 13 loop in the traditional snowbelts. Right now Watersmeet, BC, Sidnaw and Amasa are not in typical deep snow condition like Mass City. Sure we can pile in the truck and trailer to Mass City but what fun is that compared to riding 200-300 miles form WI and seeing it all from the seat of your favorite sled?

You're a very rare individual to want to ride till 5 AM just to see great trails. That's obsession. I'd bet less than 2% would do that.

yea..but that wasnt directed at you..that was directed at the yearly forcast b^tchin about no snow..bad forcasts..cant ride because of it..u can set ur watch by it

yep..its worth it to me..im not interested in trees with snow on them..seen the scenery once uve seen it twice..im interested in high speed cranking without getting beat..at least till next year when rpx gets us out in the deep with the used rmk im thinking about

u know pete..i had to come back to this cuz its buggin me..when i got into riding less than 10 years ago i had no money,,no good sleds..just the itch to ride..and when we got crap snow in MN..i took the crap sled on the trailer and just started working this way..i never heard of the kee or john dee..just did it to find the snow..
so i guess i have a different take on the no snow complaint..just go find it is how i see it..there is snow somewhere
