My wife had the day off today, so on the way back home from dropping our daughter off at school, she took these pictures. Winter rocks.

Skylar, dont you mean wife worked, daughter off of scrool? It's MLK day.
All little good scrool children are suppose to have day off...

BTW, nice pics. I always liked waking up in the morning to see frosted trees.

Nope, her bank was closed, school was open. I go to work so early, it is still dark, I didn't get to see anything. Glad she took the pictures!

Awesome. We had something like that by me this weekend. My wife and I were admiring the view on our daily walk with the dogs.

cool pics! looks the same by me in the appleton area every morning i wake up! i can't believe it, it's so weird. and for the last week, from sunrise-1pm, it's foggy/cloudy then 1pm-3pm it's sunny and clears up, then from 4pm till sundown, it's partly cloudy and it does this all over again!

Watch out for Avy's next time you ride, that hoar frost will cause a serious weak layer! :)

Very nice pics!

looks like that around Twin Cities this morning. That is just awesome and then if the sun peaks out for only 5 minutes (that's all it can come out, lol) it just makes the trees glow. I love riding when it's like that.

Great Pics

hoarfrost

A new word I can't wait to use:

hoarfrost. a covering of minute ice needles, formed from the atmosphere at night upon the ground and exposed objects when they have cooled by radiation below the dew point, and when the dew point is below the freezing point.

And here I thought skylar was being naughty

Here's some cool pics demonstrating the temperature inversion that helps setup the hoarfrost. These are of Chicago and are from Tom Skilling's weather blog. Visit Skillings blog, he's usually right on. http://weblogs.wgntv.com/chicago-weather/tom-skilling-blog/
