Someone from this site has to be in that area and try to get some pics!!!

I am, but two problems:
1) There is a reef just off shore along almost the entire shoreline from the north entry to Copper Harbor that breaks up the monsters out in the mid lake.
2) Pretty dark between 8pm and 12am and you would be surprise how fast the wave height drops off when the winds subside a bit. Still might head out Friday to take some pics.

I have never seen waves that big on the G Lakes before. 5-8 footers are dangerous enough. I can't imagine waves that size.

Supposed to get 15-20 footers on the south end of Lake Michigan tonight and tomorrow...myself and my offshore boating breatheren are daring each other...

This does not look good.. Sustained winds of up to 44 knots with gusts to 56 knots with waves ranging from 22 to 32' possible. Maybe we'll see some Lake Freighters seeking shelter. I would certainly like to get some pic's, but like John said, it's dark at 8PM, so it will be impossible to photograph the full power of the big pond this time. We'll see how it ramps up, I might give it a try before 8p. -Mezz

it's windy here in Greenland and I gotta go to Onto for my sons open house for 2nd grade. I'll take the camera and snap a few of the big pond, leaving in 20 mins
