- - - Updated - - -In a drag the SW cant beat the 850, in a radar run yes. All being equal. these must be some sick 850s as the poo isn't much of a race for mine neither is the 800 etecs. I will say my sled is setup to drag race and has been tested. there is a lot to be had from stock clutching. Bring it ladies I welcome any sidewinder to a 660 foot race.
That's a ridiculous statement. If I got a 35 HP advantage I'll take those odds every time. It's all about traction and RT off the line.
I copied a user review from the Supertrax forums of an owner that owns both the 850 and the Sidewinder. A question was posed who is quicker/faster.
FROM THE SUPERTRAX FORUMS:
James E. says....I'll make it easy, I own both. In most cases the 850 will get out front up to 1000' then the SW goes by decisively by a good 7-10 mph. This is only because the SW cannot get enough traction on snowpack. It spins violently off the line. Once it gets it's footing it's make up time and boy does it ever. Do a roll on at 40-60 mph and the SW immediately puts 4-5 lengths on the 850 and keeps pulling away. Hard to match a 35 HP defffiency. I have over 500 miles on each with plenty of WOT pulls on the lakes in Northern Ontario.
Donald Y. says.....What are the results with a foot of snow?
James E. says....The SW kills the 850, the more snow the more the SW wins.
Also if you want to go faster the 850 is pretty much tapped out. But for about a grand or less you can do a muffler upgrade and reflash to bring the HP levels of the SW up anywhere's from 230-250-270-300 HP depending how far you want to go. That's the HP of a 800 and 600 combined.
